Pearse St's Trafic , and 'Wicklow Rapid Response - DOCTOR' ( Pity they weren't as rapid about changing the reg. plates, it's been around for months with UK plates  ). Also say a 'Emergency Blood' Astra estate today in passing, photo when seen again .3-series with blue lights - if they don't flash then they're legal now  As far as the Road Traffic Act says they 'may be white or yellow' but no mention of blue ;)

First of all, the officer survived this awful crash, that I know. However, he will probably never return to full duty. This accident happened in the Lancaster/Palmdale area (Antelope Valley) as the officer behind the wheel was responding to a radio call. I'm still looking for more specific details myself. This patrol car now gets toured throughout the various Sheriff's stations as a reminder to deputies that even when doing something as routine as rolling to a incident with lights and siren you still have to be aware of your surroundings

(Translation) Starting next spring VW is offering the new Passat as patrol cars for the police. The authorities version it is blue-painted silver, or foiled, has a special signal conditioning and digital radio. As a particularly contemporary company car should be driven VW is now a study in the form of the Passat Variant GTE.

The plug-in hybrid utilizes the already known from the Gulf GTE drive technology with 160 kW / 218 hp - a combination of gasoline engine and electric motor. The lithium-ion battery stores power for the hybrid 50 kilometers electrically operated and can be charged at the outlet. Thus, the most inner-city inserts can cope purely electric. Dispensing with flashing lights and horns, the police can thus silently sneak up when it is needed. In any chases the Passat GTE capable of achieving 220 km / h.

The study VW also responds to a statement made by Federal Minister Sigmar Gabriel, who said at an event in Wolfsburg, federal, state and local governments would have to go to a special responsibility to electric mobility ahead. The Passat Variant GTE emits 39 grams of CO2, which corresponds to an average fuel consumption of 1.7 liters - when he left his electric kilometers always unravels.

Hyundai i30 ad from Switzerland - VW chairman very impressed with the Hyundai :o Maybe they're not so bad after all (especially seeing as the Home Office has tested/approved them for UK police ;)
