What do we all think of Frasier?

Probably my favourite ever sitcom, I'm only 26 so it was the repeats that made me a fan. I'm just finishing the last season again on Netflix and I don't know where to turn next. Any suggestions? I have to say Niles is the best comedic actor, his physical comedy is brilliant. I think Frasier has the best lines however. The one where Martin finds the old statue and the boys think they are descended from Russian royalty has one of the funniest lines ever imo. Daphne is fetching something from the kitchen and Frasier referring to the servant who stole the statue says "someone's back is aching for the lash!" in his over dramatic way. Daphne thinks he is referring to her. It doesn't sound as funny now but if you've seen it you'll know what I mean. Also I love Bulldog , best character after Niles I think.

Hooping Cranes where Niles takes the half court shot at the basketball game is one of my fav tv eps of all time. S08E15 if you're looking.

Seattle might as well be Strasbourg, considering how well Frasier works in German:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Loved watching it on Sunday nights before school when I was young :D
The first few seasons are great, like the next few after that, never gonna revisit season 8 onwards. Not sure what happened but 8 was like a different show altogether, was that after David Angell died on one of the 9/11 flights?

Cheers is better though, especially when you compare it to everything else that was on at the time.

Frasier is my favourite sitcom. Old housemate of mine had bought the boxset, we had seen loads when living together during college. I was moving house so had to buy the set myself. When moved back in, two boxsets, side by side.

One of my favourite lines is the telescope line that was posted a page or so back. Think it's in the very first episode.

Other favourite moments, when Niles is having the panic attack so is wheezing like a maniac. Also, the bit where the 4 of them (Frasier, Niles, Martin, Daphne) are saying grace before dinner, Nile staring at Daphne, then Frasier opens his eyes slowly to see Niles adoring Daphne...the expression doesn't need words.

I think that along with Fawlty Towers, its the best written and funniest TV comedy ever.

I love the episode where Frasier is having erotic dreams about Gil and he finds out, and there is a scene where Gil is standing outside Frasier's studio suggestively eating a chocolate eclair.

Gil: See you tomorrow Frasier, or should I say...see you in your dreams!

    Unbelievable.

When Martin started going out with Sherri, a complete salt of the earth lady who would annoy Jesus Christ himself, Frasier and Niles' putdowns were absolutely top drawer:

Sherri: Well I was always told that laughter is the best medicine.
Frasier: I guess we must be in the placebo group.

Another classic, where Frasier comforts Bulldog after he's dumped.

Love the episode where Niles becomes a critic and Frasier is all jealous. This exchange is brilliant:

Dr. Niles Crane: If it's any consolation, I got fired from "The Monocle."
Dr. Frasier Crane: Niles, I'm sorry.
Dr. Niles Crane: I panned a wretched musical, not realizing the lead was the person who does Olga's hair.
Dr. Frasier Crane: She fired you just to placate her hairdresser?
Dr. Niles Crane: Electrolysist. And if you'd ever seen her in a sundress, you'd forgive her as I have.

    Big fan of Frasier.

My favourite quote is S1 E23 "Frasier Cranes Day Off". Niles is filling in for Fasier who has the flu. He starts the show with:
I should warn you that while Frasier is a Freudian, I am a Jungian. So there'll be no blaming Mother today.

Yes, that's a favourite of mine too mostly because of how fantastically David Hyde Pierce delivers it.

"her lips said no, but her eyes said read my lips"

    I use it myself...........

Frasier has the three dates (all hotties too) and blew them all one by one.
Kept referring to the three dates on his show.

Season 2 - Episode 14 - Fool Me Once,Shame on You, Fool Me Twice....

After Niles is feeling nauseated after standing up to a beautiful woman.

Frasier: "There there Niles, soon you'll be home with Maris and you'll forget you were anywhere near a beautiful woman today"

    And speaking of Roz ...

I was wondering what Peri Gilpin was up to these days; then she popped up in CSI as the wife of DB Russell, who is played by Ted Danson, of all people ...

Have the episodes on C4 recorded to watch whenever. Three of the last four episodes I've watched in my off time are genuine comedy classics: "Frasier's Imaginary Friend", "Gift Horse" and "Halloween".

Niles in particular gave a tour de force in "Halloween" in the typically brilliantly written confusion over Roz's pregnancy (and Roz was looking smashing in her costume :D). Frasier's "descent into madness" with his supermodel, zoologist girlfriend who left a Seahawks player to be with Frasier was gas. And Martin's reaction to seeing his old workhorse was touching.

It was a while since I last saw either episode and I forgot just how strong a show Frasier was at it's peak.

The one where Fraiser goes with Daphne to the british pub, and they have the darts match and he slags england off to the extent they run him out of the joint :D incredible, kelsey grammar is magnificent.

We were cracking up laughing at Roz And The Schnoz episode this morning, where pregnant Roz meets the parents of her baby's Dad to find they both have huge noses. Great visual jokes, and great writing.

Niles: I need you to come to a dog show with me.
Frasier: I would rather give you a lung! [to passing waitress] Latte, please.
Niles: Frasier, I beg you. It's at the Seattle Kennel Club tomorrow night and I can't go alone, Maris will be there.
Frasier: And in what class will Maris be showing?
Niles: She'll be showing no class!

One of my favourite shows and I still watch it all the time on Netflix.

So many great line and episodes.

Love the one where Niles tries to rebel and gets himself a pot brownie. Or the one where bebe is trying to tempt fraiser back to her and the red light is flashing and the choir singing outside. So funny.

It's starting to look pretty dated when it turns up on channel 4, it's like they filmed it in slightly soft-focus or something.

    Frasier description of the queen.

Frasier: [sarcastic:] Oh yes, you've really bested me there, what
could be more dignified than a dainty old sandbag who wears a flowerpot on her head!

They possibly did. Cheers was deliberately filmed in soft focus

Roz: You know, they say that your life can be prolonged by bodily contact.
Frasier: Well in that case Roz, you'll outlive styrofoam.

Peri Gilpin was (and probably still is) absolutely flakin'!
