And you're saying porn isn't of a high enough standard, maybe it needs HD? Most of the things listed have been shown in the last 2 Bond films by the way.

I'll have to rewatch them so, I missed the bit where Daniel Craig had his face sat on before being double teamed by the Bond girls. :D

    (....now there's an idea)

The thread title is a bit misleading - "Britain bans sex acts in porn"

I have visions of a woman calling a plumber, and he fixes the washing machine, has a cup of tea, charges her £75 and then leaves.

They'll be banning moustaches soon too. Just you watch.

I'm questioning whether it's been "proven" to influence people to become sex criminals.

As I've been saying throughout the thread all of society has an influence. If we're going to stop oppression, abuse, sex crimes, rape, injustice and intolerance then nothing is exempt from analysis. I don't think anyone doubts the fact that media has an influence, so why shouldn't it be looked at?

A much healthier attitude than hide things that some people do would be to educate kids that there is a wide variety of things that they can do and teach them how to be careful about it.

11 years ago I was told blowjobs were something gay people can do to have sex because they have no vagina. And that came from the mouth of a medically trained employee of the HSE.

    No squirting and fisting?!

What am I supposed to watch now? :(

First you say the media has influence, now society, you have change your argument from their being proof to nobody doubts it. I doubt it, I would like to see your proof please. As you said there is proof that sex crimes were influenced by the media so proof on exactly that would be great thanks.

Also there are numerous studies that show rape is an act of violence and has nothing to do with sex at all.

I think the amount of sex crimes and the proven influence of the media can't be ignored. And by media here I don't just mean pornography, but all media.

Media does cause crimes. All those kids that committed suicide because of Judas Priest. Kids who worshipped the devil because of Ozzy. all those Satanist sacrifices from role playing. Not to mention mass murderers from computer games.

exactly!! 'Here are all your options, this is how it all works, now go figure out what you like, be careful, have fun!!'

That is what the male Wexie jr. will be told, the females will be in a boarding school in Switzerland, they're not allowed to date or have boobies until they're 21

You were told this in 2003?

That's probably cause she didn't want to have to swallow

I agree. The media and society as a whole does influence people, and to varying extents. It's always worth looking at. However, I'd question whether this influence would be great enough so as to encourage someone to commit a sex crime.

Maybe I mistook your context initially, but my impression was that you were saying that it's been proven that the media influences the amount of sex crimes?

It's a wonder they didn't ban gay porn considering how much more likely gay men are to transmit and acquire HIV

Read literally any book on psychological development and the factors that influence it, especially during adolescence. Read any sociological introductory text on crime and deviancy.

I wonder if depictions of violent sex have an influence then, don't you?

Its a strange list. I wonder how they decided that píssing on each other was to be banned, but shítting on each other is perfectly fine?

Nothing wrong here- A lot of those things are nasty and demeaning toward women, and having it in porn will give young people a pretty warped sense of what should be the norm.

female ejaculation is demeaning to woman?

well I'll be damned, no more good sex for me :(

Let's not wonder, let's prove before engaging in censorship.

The data, which identified MSM as men who have engaged sexually with another man within the last five years, revealed that MSM are over 44 times more likely than other men to contract HIV, and over 40 times more likely than women to contract HIV. Further, MSM were over 46 times more likely to contract syphilis than other men, and over 71 times more likely than women to contract syphilis.

No. I was talking about the effects the media has on a sociological level and the effects media has on adolescent development. I'm not saying that watching Babysitter Sluts Titfest 3 results in someone running out and motorboating a pair of boobs rather they influence the context people put sex in and the attitude people take to their sexual interactions.

I have no doubt that there are some people who become obsessed with certain things and follow that through to a criminal action, but those are rather acute cases. I'm far more worried about how society and the media has a broad effect on sexual interactions. Both feminism and the men's rights movement are looking at the effect media has on how people view their bodies, how people relate to sex, and the standards they set that are nigh on unachievable for a lot of people. I really didn't think anyone wouldn't think this needs to be looked at. I'm actually quite surprised to the resistance to this. My ideas aren't new ideas by any stretch of the imagination.

This! Surely if objects "associated with violence" are banned, and rape can involve the penis, or fingers, or any other object, then in fact the British porn industry now has to avoid showing penetration altogether?

A group of middle aged prudes huddled around a laptop looking at various categories on pornhub deciding what they find disgusting is a hilarious image! Much like some homophobes are actually gay themselves, you can damn well bet that these prudes have the same fetishes of which they banned.

The media surely has an influence but I don't see it convincing people to commit sex crimes.

To be honest I'm not interested in discussing the issue with anybody that claims to have proof of something and provides poor anecdotal evidence at best.

I agree. I would much rather have healthy and open discussions about sex, consent, and relationships than have to censor anything. I still think the investigation into what the effects of violent pornography are (and the effects of anything,) because otherwise we can't have any healthy or open discussion about it.

I do think it's appalling how many people think they're impervious to the effects of the media and broader society. Like they're free from influence. No-one is.

A lot of people here seem upset that people are telling them that wanting to look at women being smacked around the place for their sexual gratification is not on. Very revealing.

The people who see nothing wrong and are into this stuff (Choking, spanking etc): Ask yourselves- were you into it before or after you saw it in porn? Chicken and egg here.

And by 'young people' I'm talking about people old enough to see porn (18, 19, 20).

    yes

In fact, I first started fantasising about being beaten at 14 years old.

I used to, no joke here, imagine meeting someone in a random nightclub, and having them ravish me right there. Shoving me against the wall. Choking me, then to beatings and hair pulling, all while being fcuked.

I don't have any idea where that came from, but I know I love pain play.
The only porn I've ever watched, is as a kid those channels with gals saying "call this number for chat xxxx" and as an adult, some hentai, normally sweet loving stuff, in fact, I actually shy away from the more violent scenes. But in reality, I love it.
I do like reading erotica though.

In fact aggressive sex, is very "animalistic" and probably more natural than society wants to admit.

As far as I'm aware, the most watched genre of S&M porn by men is overwhelmingly female dominant, male submissive. But okay...

They're ACTORS Aongus. It's not real.

Grown adults that can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy, also very revealing.
