What's the biggest prize you ever won?

Won 2 grand on the Euromillions Plus 2 years ago. Just about a month before Christmas. Was fúcking dead handy for the shopping!

Won a local GAA lotto twice in the space of 3 years too (not my own club's draw; I think I'd have been hounded out of town for that!). Got €3,500 and €2,000 respectively each time.

Took a punt on the Euro 2008 Final. Torres to score first and Spain to win 1-0. 33/1 and I'd stuck €50 on it.

Won €1,300 in the Fitz Casino in Dublin on the night I got my Leaving Cert results.

Won €2,000 in a big Celtic Poker Tournament in Bray when I was about 19 or so.

Won €500 betting on Pour Moi in the 2011 Epsom Derby.

But those pale in comparison to some of the losses... :P

The worst one ever was during the 2009/10 Premier League Season. In one Saturday afternoon, Man United were away to Stoke, Arsenal were away to Fulham, Liverpool at home to Hull and Chelsea away to Wigan. The Big 4 (at the time) all playing relatively poor teams in one afternoon. This is too good to be true, says I authoritatively.

Rush into the bookies next to the pub I was in, and check the odds on all 4 of United, Arsenal, Pool and Chelsea winning. Just a little shy of 6/1. I lump on it. I stuck a small fortune on that, thinking it was free money!

I bragged about the bet in the pub, sipping contentedly on my pint and grinning thinking about how to spend my winnings. I'm also a Chelsea fan. This is a pertinent fact.

United breezed past Stoke 2-0. Arsenal scraped past Fulham 1-0. Liverpool hockeyed Hull 6-1....................................................

Chelsea stumble and falter to lose 3-1 to Wigan.

I don't think I've recovered from that one yet. Bad enough to lose the surest of sure things I've ever seen, but for your own team to be the one to fúck you!!! Jesus...

I won €250 after being entered into a monthly draw by Permanent TSB for completing their customer survey.
I REALLY wanted to spend it on a new tattoo but sure I had to clothe myself... Stupid jeans wearing out at the crotch... *grumble*

So you didn't have 5 numbers and one bonus then? You had 4 and 1 bonus. You didn't think it might be a good idea to double check your numbers on ceefax before you spent the rest of the night planning how you'd spend several hundred thousand euro???

Won 1800 euro for 5 numbers on a 4 euro quick pick about a year ago. The 6th number was 39 and I had 35 on my ticket. Prize was 3 million, went thru my head non stop for few days what that change in 1 number could have done but sure you won't pick up 1800 off the street either!

Mate of mine, married to my cousin is luckiest b***tard.

Won 500,000 on the euro millions about 5 years ago.

Got on Winning Streak and got to spin the wheel. Think he won about 50,000 (10 years ago).

Won loads of other prices, (Free boat on the shannon for a week, Concert tickets - other stuff as well)

Useless with money though, gambler. Don't think he has a whole lot left from any of the winnings.

Remember the beer advert that had a moose on the road and this cabin slides down a snow covered hill and hits the moose, can't even remember what beer it was. They were launching that beer in Jersey in a night club around 1999 and giving away prizes all night, at the end they called up 3 people to the stage and somehow I was one of them, completely pissed. We had to come up with a name for the moose, best name wins, I said Roadkill and won a load of stuff. I don't think they wanted me to win but the other two names were even worse than mine, think one girl said something like moosie . One prize was £500 in Thomas Cook vouchers, but gave them to my sister, I completely forgot about it till now, I must remind her of my previous generosity.

People always talk about stupid drunken mistakes, but I was langers one night and put 5k on a horse instead of 500. The horse won the following day and I got 16,250 back (11,250 profit).

Best drunken mistake I've ever made.

Ive never won big things. I've won ummm games and I won a meal in clerys window once, thats the height of it.

The first thing I ever won was a bodyshop set from the farmers journal :P

No I had 5 numbers and 1 bonus number. Euro millions has 7 numbers for jackpot and I did double check my numbers on ceefax but amount won does not come up for a good few hours after the 11pm draw has been made. So now for ya!!!

At a raffle one time, I was called out after someone had just won a top of the line mountain bike. I won a squeaky dog toy.

Won an iPad Mini recently enough, so that's probably the best thing.

People often say 'my friend/sister/mother/cousin/etc is the luckiest person ever, they always win stuff'. It's not because they're lucky....they just enter everything going.

Where I work there are always promos running, someone was in today to collect prizes from 3 different competitions....and when I checked their win, they've already won a load of stuff this year alone.

I've walked out of casinos with €500/€600 on a number of occasions (poker). I've cashed €500 out of Party Poker a number of times. It's an incredibly frustrating game though so I don't play it as much as I used to.
