The November update has begun its public rollout: http://majornelson.com/2014/11/07/xbox-one-november-system-update-personalize-watch-tv-xbox-one-like-never/ I can't check it atm.

    Edit: downloading now, 261MB.

Just bug fixes apparently, prior to it rolling out worldwide.

The next customer facing update will be in February apparently.

@Steverulez December and January will really only be backend features for platform, no real public facing features.

Should be able to change it in the Dashboard Preview app. Ironically, you'll probably need to download the original dash.

The media app for me has been a nightmare lately. It's very buggy. Loses connection with the usb a lot. I was hoping this update would improve things.

Just back end stuff from what I read, nothing "customer facing" unless you switch to US region then you get a 'whats on' panel on the main dash.

Yeah, for anyone that is sick of the large downloads, the word from Microsoft is that there won't be any new consumer facing stuff until January or February.

This means that people who have a slow connection/low data cap might be better off turning the preview dashboard off for the foreseeable.

To unsubscribe from the preview program I just declined the update terms and conditions that it's been asking for recently. Anyway, no further download after to get old dash or anything.

So turned on my Xbox One on Friday after work and was asked to update with a 230+ MB file. My Xbox is on everyday so it was up to date.

I cant find any release notes on this update and the gaming websites have nothing on a December update.

    Anyone else get this?

Microsoft were not lying when they said the December update would contain nothing really. Would expect the Jan or Feb update to contain quite a bit. They are still working to bring us the screenshot function which will be a nice addition.

Yes screen shots will be great much easier to post them up in places like here.

Going to move this thread into the main dashboard thread.

Took screenshots left, right and centre on the PS4, hard to remember I can't do that on the Xbox One >< Hope it comes soon.

It's almost certain. Phil Spenser, in charge of Xbox, is one of the executives confirmed to be presenting.

Joe Belfiore, the guy in charge of Windows Phone and a really ridiculous haircut, is also presenting, for those of you interested in Windows Phone.... Only me, then? *cries*

Looking forward to this event - it should show us a sneak peek of what's coming to PC, Xbox and Windows Phone with Windows 10.

(Although Joe Belfiore is a VP in the Operating Systems, so might only be there with his PC Windows hat on - I'd be a bit disappointed if they don't show something for Windows Phone Dev Preview members)

I'm guessing that the December and January updates for Xbox One are getting things in place for the "Windows Insider" / Dashboard Preview for Xbox One later in the year - it won't be Windows 10 straight after the January event.

I'd also say that they are probably not doing any customer facing updates for a couple of months so they have a large update in February with a laundry list of updates, rather than three small lists of incremental but useful updates.

Apparently Phil Spenser is there to talk about Windows gaming... Ah well.

On the other hand, transparent tiles coming:

I like the look of that, although I wouldn't mind if they also allowed the backgrounds to be a bit brighter. Too dark for my liking.
