Managed to get it downloaded last night.
For anyone else having difficulty I did the following steps to get it to work:

Settings >> Disc & Blu ray >> Clear Persitent Storages - three times.
Settings >> Network >> Advanced Settings >> Alternate MAC address >> Clear
Settings >> Power/Start Up >> Do NOT auto turn off

AFAIK the 20GB update will still need to come down.

Just wondering something while watching that video where they talk about Halo 2 being exactly the same game - but remastered...

One thing that I always disliked about earlier Halos was that you had to click the thumb-stick to zoom down sights. I always sucked at the BR and I blame this!

This was compounded after playing MOH, COD, Battlefield etc where you have the left trigger option. In fact I only bought Halo 4 after confirming that at least one of the controller setups allowed left-trigger zoom.

Basically I'm hoping that there'll be a choice of controller setups for the earlier Halos that wasn't available when they first shipped. And that finally I can shoot the damned BR straight. :pac:

I always use CoD controller set up too, I think it was called Fish-stick in Halo 4.

Yeah 3mb line here which is one of the main reasons I went digital to get it pre-loaded well in advance.

Yeah that's the one. Set the xbox to instant on so it downloads updates automatically and it should start downloading it for you.

Apparently the Halo 3 stuff doesn't look great, hopefully it's something they will patch as it looks like a lighting bug but at them moment the 360 version actually looks better if these screen shots are to be believed:

Turned on the Xbox this morning to see a prompt to launch Halo!

The bad news is I had to go to work... but the good news is I got to start another required 15GB download which I now won't be bitching and screaming about have to get when I get home to play.

Anyone been playing?

Have played 3 campaign missions

CE is a lot harder on legendary than I remember it being! Pistol much harder to get headshots with

Seems to be some issues with Matchmaking and only got one game in, Assault on classic Zanzibar. Real blast from the past

Question re the different skulls that you can unlock depending on how you bought the game...

Do they only offer the advantage in certain scenarios? E.g. purchasers on the digital store can collect the "Boom Skull for the Halo 2 Anniversary Campaign" on the remade Halo:CE. I assume this means the extra grenade damage only works during the H2 campaign and not, for example, in matchmaking?

EDIT: Just reading about skulls here - WTF do they do?! Sounds like they hobble you rather than help you...

I have unlimited ammo skull for CE...I'm certain it will come in handy on legendary playing library level with a rocket launcher :P

I've been home from work since 5 and I've found 3 games in the past 5 hours. In all of them my team mates have had no thumbs.

Have had one match each now in Halo 2 and 3.

The 2 anniversary game looks and plays great. Shame you have to wait an hour to play one.

Was really looking forward to playing online yesterday evening , game took 6 hours to install and the matchmaking was broken anyway so didn't even get to play it.

Very disappointing for such a big release day. Hopefully will be able to play a little this evening but not holding my breath!

It got a little better lastnight, managed to get 3 games in a row pretty easily but then back to infinite searching after that.

More fixes on the way today after Xbox Live issues resolve apparently

When it works, this game is brilliant. Really hope they fix the issues quickly.
