Meh.. 2025 is 11 years away. By then there will be a new craze to hit the fitness scene and who knows maybe the whole gym thing might be completley dead by then. I really like the idea though to be honest with ya and totally agree re covering up other personal weaknesses. The more you post RG the more you impress me as a person haha!

We got to know each other pretty well during the summer in the Work & Jobs section. Glad to have moved on from that dip but still lurk now and again to see how others are doing.

I noticed that alright. I still don't think you've reached my numbers but you are on that road. I can see a bit of negativity just like I saw it in myself and this is going to be hard to believe now but your luck will change and you'll look back at those threads and laugh. You just have to remember that the only way is up. I can't tell you how or when it will happen it just will.

I don't want to drag this too far OT but today I'm having one of those days where I feel as if I wasted 4 years of my life getting a degree, its just hard to keep your head up sometimes I guess and especially every day going on Facebook and seeing one of my college friends after another getting a job.

I wouldn't say it was a waste. You probably made friends there and business contacts you might meet again. Everything happens for a reason and as long as you keep going forward you are going in the right direction irrespective of long it takes to reach your destination.

I noticed you prepare for interviews much more than others with higher degrees because you have more to prove, so this has developed your ability to speak and engage with employers and you're coming across as more confident. You are still applying and not throwing in the towel which shows character. Not to mention you've garnered great advice off the Work and Jobs section which could help you in the long run. These are all things that happened because of your situation and they are creating the path for you to take which is still in the right direction even if you can't see it yet. I wouldn't call that a waste then. You should always judge yourself during the bad times and you're still carrying yourself very well.

I just scowl at the ones who don't put the fu*king plates back.

Set up a gym where everyone ours the plates back. Win.

I only scowl at the Chinese lad who does a set then spends 5 minutes tapping away on his iPhone. I knew some people liked candy crush but wtf

I always scowl at this black guy who spends his entire time on the phone with his mates or he might hit out a few sets on the Smith Machine, yet he's swole and ripped to shreds. Damn genetics.

They have higher testosterone levels than Caucasian males. Most can get to 200lbs 10%bf from just playing basketball 3 times a week

Been getting some PMs about PT'ing and I've taken the bait. At the moment I'm in touch with 2/3 gyms about being able to brings guys in and train them. I haven't been associated with working in a gym for a while now. Im actually working in insurance now which is a huge change in environment. I have free time after work that I'm trying to take advantage of. If 5 guys come to me interested ill help you with your fitness goals. Not going to take anymore than that because my time is somewhat limited and i want to put my all into this because I don't half arse anything. Let me know if you're interested

Is OP bobble head brah? lol

Also just lol at that loser in the opening pages calling out op for not playing sports, probably some GAA or rugby head with 20 per cent bodyfat and disgusting.

Also I think because generally boards is probably full of obese neckbeards that people think OP is 'omg so muscly'

No hate though op, you have a quality physique.

In reference to my first point about mr.nice guy's comments I think his is a prevailing mindset in Ireland. Only now it seems you notice more people like myself and the OP that train for the sake of looking good. I do it for myself, not to impress others btw. I don't compare myself to anyone and its just one aspect of my life where I look to better myself. TBH the gym is a bit of a waste of time, but my mindset is to go when I can, I would never go out of my way to go gym, if it suits me I go. Always cringe at people whose lives are dictated by it.

    that'd be me.
I play all sorts of sports and lift to improve my sports performance.
I also do some coaching with younger athletes.
That's why I asked the question.

And you enjoy it, right? That seems like such a foreign concept to some people to the point they get offended by someone enjoying lifting weights as a hobby or even a career, just because they think it's boring lol. Fishing is boring in my opinion but I'd never make fun of or belittle someone for enjoying it just because I don't, if anything I'd consider trying it with an open mind to see if my opinion changed on it.

All this sort of stuff stems from insecurity and jealousy most of the time anyway so as much as I hate to use the term "hater", you'll know your physique is progressing when it begins drawing negative attention. Constructive criticism is always good though.

The "do you play sports" thing seems to be a big thing with the general public. I'm nowhere as big as the op but getting to the point where it's obvious I look like I do something in the gym with regular clothes on. A few days ago a guy asked me what club I play with (gaelic football) , when I said I don't play and just lift to stay in shape (this seems to be the most pc way of putting it) he said there is no point in going to the gym if you're not doing a sport. This chap wouldn't do anything physical activity and would be in very bad shape health wise .kinda weird tbh

Of course brah. I think its just especially alien in Ireland where so many young people are involved in some form of sport they find it weird and perplexing that someone who doesn't care about sports can *look* in better shape than them.

I notice more and more those who just lift for the sake of lifting are starting to eclipse those who lift for sport. Great to see lol

LOL yeah so many people are misinformed about good physiques. Even the OP's mindset isn't healthy(bulking I don't think is healthy, he even says he eats everything in sight) but it leads to results. There are thousands of people who are probably healthier than OP but look half as good.

The guy with the best physique I know is a horrible athlete.

    Bingo.
I know weightlifters who don't look like they are 'in shape' and then BOOM 120kg over their head.
And their are subtle differences between weightlifting and lifting for sport.

I've also played various sports against opponents who appear to be in great 'physical shape' only to discover that is all they are - in great shape.
But if that is what they are training for, then off with them.

Bulking doesn't have to be unhealthy and OP said yesterday he was starting a clean bulk.

Out if curiosity, what sport(s) do you play?

Sports performance comes down to a lot more than physical ability. Some random player being a lot better than another player, whose in "better shape" means virtually nothing tbh.

My diet was very strict during the cut and the cheat day was incredulously dirty to stay disciplined for the rest of the week. I tried all clean 7 days a week but you hit a brick wall

I can't eat everything in sight because I am more of an endomorph than a meso. Always need to keep my bf% in check or my cut takes an age to finish
