I suppose if you want to bang on about that, you could use your imagination and picture it this way. The hitman was put into the container & tied with his arms up near the dodgy light. Patrick returned sometime later and done the deed. So, just picture that while Patrick was absent his buddies interrogated the hitman....... Problem solved.

The ridin' scenes are great. I think Siobhan will have to find a new jockey now that her two previous ones have broken necks.

I'd love to get that part.

Tommy, Git, Paulie and i suppose you could say even Darren since she offered it on a plate to him. :D

3 dead and one half way there, yep Siobhan is like the grim reaper

Especially the posts asking who Nidge and Fran are. Not knowing that and coming to this forum is like discussing a book after only reading the back.

is this the first Season of love hate ?

It is, but some are doing it a bit like Star Wars.
We are watching 5 now, then some can go watch 4 to see what 5 is all about.
Then go watch 1, 2 and 3 to help fill in all the blanks, finishing 3 just in time for series 6 to roll around.
By which time some will have forgotten what happened in 5 and will be back on boards asking daft questions again trying to make sense of series 6.

Now without out all the abuse please... can someone remind me who git was... I remember him being burried on frans land alright but can't remember who he is.

Also I think that's how siobhan will get caught out. Telling cops about body.

Git, high rank in Dublin IRA unit and father of Dano.
He was killed by Darren and buried on Fran's land.

You left out the part where he raped Siobhan and was beaten almost to death by Tommy before Darren put him out of his misery with a keg to the head!

I thought that Paulie's tumble was nicely foreshadowed by Siobhan standing on the club roof's edge in stilettos while off her face in a previous episode. He just looked at her and laughed. For all his talk of love and marriage ultimately they were each out for themselves. I also thought it was interesting that Siobhan said she was not going back to Tommy, not that she was going to stay with Paulie.

Can anyone see Love/Hate going on for another 2/3 seasons?

People always seem to be saying ''the next season is the last'', but as long as the ratings and viewing figures are high then I don't see any reason for RTE to cancel it.

I suppose it's ultimately up to Stuart Carolan and when he wants to end the story. They have covered a lot of ground though, and I'm not sure how much more can be meddled with. It seems that season 6 has been all but confirmed any ways. I'd like to see it reach a 7th season, but if it makes sense to conclude the story line next season then so be it.

And yes I am watching the show, but the chemistry between them is so bad it comes across more brother and sister.

    Sister and wife.

Good episode. A bit annoyed though that I wasn't taken more by surprise by some of the main talking points. When someone suggested last week that maybe there was an undercover guard (good spot by that poster), I did guess on this thread that it might be the Scottish fella. So when Moynihan was telling the other Guard he had an undercover man I was fully expecting and not surprised at all to see the Scottish guy coming up to meet him.

I originally thought that Paulie might die from something drug related, but have speculated with my friends a few times that if Siobhan was caught out she would no doubt kill Paulie if possible, because she would have no other choice as he would definitely kill her otherwise . As soon as the zoo thing was let slip I knew 100% Paulie was getting pushed of that balcony the way he was sitting.

So I would have preferred to have been more shocked by these stories as I feel I would have enjoyed episode more if I hadn't expected some of the scenes.

That being said, I WAS very shocked when Patrick's little son got shot, and that they would even plan a hit when he was with his child surprised me. When the hitman was walking up behind Patrick and his son I was just thinking "oh no, oh no, can't believe they're going to kill him in front of his son" - I did really think that Patrick was going to die.
I was very happy he survived. :)

I agree with an earlier poster who said that it seemed a bit off that Fran would just instantly believe Nidge had been seeing Linda. I would have expected him not to believe it and think that Nidge was just trying to wind him up. I suppose though with only 6 episodes, they have to keep things moving quickly and might not have time to show him doubting this story and eventually in some way later coming to believe it.

I'm looking forward to seeing the aftermath of Paulie's death. Will Nidge suss Siobhan as being the rat or I wonder will he start thinking that maybe Scottish guy is the rat? He already must think that the Scottish guy is an untrustworthy sort to be screwing his friend's girlfriend, and he was also questioning the barman a bit about him too. He trusted him enough to do a job, but maybe now will start being suspicious of him now he knows there is a rat?

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a scene with Terrence questioning Siobhan looking for the exact details of how Paulie fell. If this happens I could see Siobhan getting panicked and slipping up somehow by changing some detail that makes her then look suspicious. She could be in danger if this happens.

Janet hearing about a little child getting shot could be the turning point for her in going completely off Nidge. She showed a softer side when the 2 girls overdosed and didn't seem to like how cold Nidge was. (that coupled with the fact he won't help her son) How much does she really know I wonder? I have guessed before that her son might get into trouble and she might turn informant to the Guards in exchange for getting her son out of trouble.

I'm still predicting Trish harming herself or having a breakdown, especially now since she is going to have to be living in hiding with the kids, and her lifestyle as she knows it is over.

So happy Tommie will recover. I would love if he makes an amazing recovery and remembers what Nidge did. Not sure how likely this is though.

Regarding Git's finger I'm wondering what Siobhan will do with that information. She's not going to want to get Tommie blamed for beating Git to a pulp, Darren is dead, Fran is already looking at a long stretch in jail...
Nidge is the one she hates and wants to see fall, but if she eventually finds out that the finger is in Fran's property and sends the Guards there then it is most likely just going to get pinned on Fran.

If she befriends Dean some more and finds out where the finger is, she could possibly plant it at Nidge's somehow before letting the Guards know about it. Not sure if that is too far fetched though and don't know what mental state she'll be in now after Paulie and also possibly being suspected of ratting.

We know that Aido hates Nidge now. Dean also can't stand Nidge and hates that he now has to do as Nidge says.
Possible pairing up of Aido and Dean to take down Nidge I wonder? They both have reason to dislike him enough and they might become friends now.
If this did happen and Aido let the Scottish guy who he sees as a friend into the plan, could it end up with Moynihan saving Nidge's life against a planned hit?

I'm hoping Fran isn't foolish enough to trust Noelie and that he keeps his wits about him.

Patrick and Nidge, who knows what the hell will happen there! I personally don't think Patrick would target Nidge's children but he'll definitely be hell bent on getting Nidge now maybe killing of some of his associates on the way.

Wow there's so many possible storylines, keeps me speculating for ages! Can't wait for next week's episode! :)

    Those vests are amazing devices

Two shots to the back and a pistol bullet to the lower chest and not a bother on him

Must have item for all ne'er do wells!

In the American shows if you get shot in the vest you'll be knocked over, badly hurt and struggle to get on your feet again but you'll survive. Irish vests are made of sterner stuff

Does anyone else think that L/H is the most overrated and over hyped show of all time?
Apart from a bunch of dublin nomarks, stony faced guards, criminal travellers, living their lives-then-whats the story? The show has zero substance and wouldn't hold a candle to a series like 'breaking bad'.

Difference is that the cat was shot deliberately while the child was shot accidentally.

Noelie didn't approach Fran saying "Nidge asked me to tell you he screwed your missus". He told him Nidge offered him money to kill Fran which he turned down as it's water under the bridge as far as he's concerned now. He did go on then to take a little delight in letting Fran know what he'd found out about Linda. Noelie isn't Nidge's messenger boy as far as Fran is concerned, he's just somebody who bore a grudge and relished the opportunity to let him know what Nidge and Linda did.

ah for the love of jaysus

do half the people on this thread watch the programme at all.

I have a bad habit of watching it hungover and messing with my phone while its on. And then I wonder why I think this show is poor.

Has anyone mentioned about Paulie sussing that there is a rat in the organization? How does he come to this certain conclusion? So the cops are on his tail. That surely is expected to happen. Cops tail criminals. We all know this. It wasn't the first time that he and his cronies had met at the zoo. Maybe I missed something that led Paulie to be so confident that it had to be a rat for the cops to be at the zoo?

I don't think Nidge should suspect the Scot in particular, he had no connection to any of the people involved in the meeting. Asking the barman about him was just general paranoia, basic research you'd expect him to be making before bringing a new guy in. The fact he knows about his little secret with Aido's wife well give him a sense of control over him.

It'll would be interesting to see what Moynihan would do if Siobhán confessed that she killed Paulie. On one hand it was plausibly self-defence and arresting her would jeopardise her safety something which he feels responsible for, and it would cut off one source of information. Overlooking it though could compromise himself professionally. He might also realise Nidge or Terence will figure it or sooner or later.

Very interesting idea that Siobhán might retrieve Gits finger and plant it to incriminate Nidge.
