Sorry if this was covered before,

but at the begining where Patrick vuts his hand over the childs grave.

    Who is the dead child?

Patrick's dead son. His grave being in dublin is why Patrick refused to live in exile in England. So he came back to live near the grave knowing he would have s battle to survive.

Will Tony have any part to play in this series?

He might be Nidge's get out of jail card yet depending on whether Terrence is willing to play ball with the RA. The RA could back Nidge because as Git described him ' He is like a little lap dog'.

"He was out of his head on drugs Garda...he jumped"

    No witnesses.

Toxicology report confirms that he was out of his head on drugs.

    Case closed.

It's his two year old son. It's the reason. He's back in Ireland after going on the run. Couldn't bare to be away from him. He died in circumstances not shown in the series.

    edit: Lisha got there first.

He should have left the wife and kids in England until he sorted it. I think Patrick serioulsly doubted that the 'peace offering' would be the end of it so therefore he decided to tell Nidge the gloves were well and truly off

I reckon that Nidge, like the proverbial snake in the grass, will somehow survive and manage to come through it all.

    It is akin to the
    second season
of Boardwalk Empire, in a way. (spoilers for which are below)
Nucky was with his back to the wall; New York, Jimmy and basically every headcase with a gun was out to get him... but with some ingenius planning and some luck and some brutal killings... Nucky remained on top after the whole shebang and came out of it even better. Nidge could do similar... Cut deals with Big Balls, pin Git on Fran, murder Aido and keep the show on the road. I reckon Nidge is too slippery and slimy to be taken down. The Travellers will also get dealt with; be it through an even bigger bribe (everyone has a price) or through simply going Scarface on them. Who knows...

Yep id say Nidge is based on that notoriously slippery Dublin gangster that got out of several controversies and walked away intact as all around him burned to the ground......That gangster being Bertie Ahern :pac:

Paulie's funeral should be a fairly cheap affair, what with him only needing a child's coffin!

Think your getting mixed up with Brandon the little traveller boy who was shot but survived. Paulie was the guy who Siobhan pushed from the balcony

Just wondering what language is the traveller singing in the bar, where Patrick is at the son's grave? I thought it was Irish but it's not. Cheers.

I think it was the travellers own language - shelta or the cant afaik.

Patricks would be a costly affair such is the girth of the man although i remember Ray (Lizzies IRA brother) two years ago was somehow squashed into a small coffin. He must be a part time contortionist. Perhaps the dentist who fitted into the suitcase is his cousin. :)

Has anybody ever considered that Nidge killing off Johnboy in season 2 would come back to bite him one day? He seemed to get away with killing off what was portrayed as one of the biggest drug barons in the country without any repercussions. Having watched the first season again John boy mentions that he has contacts in Spain and also has a place over there in Puerto Banus which he was planning to retire after he had made enough dough from his drugs business. Could Johnboys death come into the storyline somehow? I get the feeling there is more to come from the Spanish storyline as I doubt they had brought cast and crew out there just to film a couple of scenes that we seen in the first episode.

is there any videos uploaded yet anywhere of the jesus saves rave scene, would love to see it again without going through the mess that is the RTE player

Surprised Fran hasn't told Siobhan about the battering Nidge give Tommy, I know she already knows but this would really fire her up. Have a feeling Elmo will butcher up a run very soon, cops see him as a weak link

Epic scene! Disturbing yet hilariously funny! What the producers do best!

Notice how Nidge's troops are falling one by one, Micha the big Lithuanian bodyguard had his leg hacked off, Potsie lost an eye, and now the chap hired to kill Patrick.
Aido is becoming increasingly disinfranchised by Nidge, Deano is more or left forced into an alliance with him to save his own skin and sure Elmo just cannot be trusted either way.

We can assume it happened in the interval between Season 3 and 4.

    Poor old Dazzler, RIP.

Just a warning to avoid the Irish Mirror website. Major spoiler based on amateur behind the scenes pictures.

their reasoning is that the Gardaí would be easy to spot as they had no children. But the same reasoning would equally apply to them. Three grown men with no children having a chat in a childrens area will draw attention. I just think it was a bad choice of location overall.

That doesn't stand up either, if you look at what you just posted you'll see it could be that the three gangsters without children could easily have been taken for three undercover cops too.

The location is not at all an issue I would think.

Siobhan wouldn't even come into Fran's thinking. He's much more direct in getting a job done where as Nidge will use any angle he can (ie Wayne, Noelie, Elmo being strung up for Git's death).

Its a pity that Love/hate dont get the money to make more episodes per season. Id love to see how they would develop the Port manager (Paul Ronan - Saoirse's father). I always liked the similar character Frank Subotka in the Wire.

Actually think Nidge visited the grave in the last season, surprised Mary his sister just exited the show after the Luke thing.

Similar to Rosie, Mary fell out with Darren presumably because she knew he killed John Boy and Stumpy and also had Luke killed (although she more or less gave the green light for Luke to 'vanish').

Always laughed at Fran describing her as a 'fúcking cracker' in s3 (which Ruth Bradley is), this after he called in Darren's debt back in S2 and trying to force his way into the house :D

Never mind the murders that Junkie scene was scariest in the show so far.

The Junkies were like a pack of zombies I thought they were going to eat somebody alive.
