Thought I'd chance my arm before sending it to the scrapper.
    Anyone interested in a 99 Punto? I'ts a 5dr, black and is the 1.2 60bhp engine.
Has just under 70k on the clock, no rot from what I could tell.
It however has been parked up since 2009. So it would need a new timing belt and water pump. A good service and a new battery.
    Obviously it has no NCT.
If anyone is interested in it then drop me a PM. Those who know my story know I work a lot outside of Ireland so if anyone does want to take it off of my hands then they are more than welcome on the 11th of October.
100e takes it, basically what I was offered by the scrapper.

Thought that was a mistake in the ad.
You would want to stick it through the test anyway and see what the story is.

agreed - add the test price to the asking price -

would sell much handier with a fail sheet asking 900 than it would for 850 and no fail sheet

Change the disks and tighten the handbrake ~€100
Clean the sump outside teh roadway into the NCT testing center and put it through the test.
Re-advertise for €1100 with better looking fail sheet (if it fails at that point).

    Sold for €700..

I just wanted rid of her to be honest. The handbrake issue, I suspect may have been slightly larger than I thought. Back left calliper was making a slight clicking noise when the breaks where touched.

TBH I would have been fairly annoyed it the twat that bought it off me didnt take it. As soon as he got into the car the traction control was switched off, he then proceded to hit 135kph in a 60 zone. Did a doughnut outide my local before doing a burnout on my driveway. Arsehole!

See, you should have put "Suit Drifting" in the ad, could have charged more!!:)

Seriously, no point trying to reason with folk like that. Take their money and send them on their way.

Sorry, but when i read your previous post I laughed too! Epic test drive.
    Is she quick? - Check.
Does she do rings? - Check.
Is the clutch and diff ok? - Check.
Did I scare the life out of the owner on the test drive? - Check.
    :pac:

If someone was test driving my car, I would encourage them to by all means give it revs in the right circumstances but If some dickhead sat in and started abusing the car straight off , he would be f*cked out on his hole fairly fast.

That's a clean looking wagon, apart from that little wrinkle on the back bumper, drivers side.

Anyone know what they're like? How likely is the underpower issue to be the boost sensor?

As likely as any sane person selling a car for the want of a 50euro sensor. At 180,000 miles, it could be a multitude of things. Could be just a vacuum hose perished on the turbo, or it could be the whole turbo.

Boost sensor issues normally show up on diagnostics/CEL. Worth having a look.

Looking for a new project and this keeps catching my attention. Other than the usual suspects of maf/coils/leads, what are the known issues with the 1.8 zee?

But then, does anyone even want an 11 year old mondeo :eek:

Piston rings give hassle in them. Burning oil and poor compression makes the emmisions tricky to pass. If I was going for one I'd get the TDDI 2.0 duratorque. Fairly decent diesel engine.

Hope its better than the endura-de. I have bad memories of one of those. It had the manual priming thing on the pump - needed priming every morning before it would start....

what would you define as a profit guideline? if it was posted in bangernomics for say €8-900 with test you'd most likely call it too expensive.
