I see a generally high satisfaction rating on this thread, and yet on the OnePlus forums, there's a certain level of disgruntlement, mainly to do with the yellow tint issue, and the RMA process.

I'm sorely tempted by the spec/price, but I'm being pulled towards the Nexus 5 and/or Moto X by the relative lack of issues and guarantee of easy warranty support. Price is fairly close, particularly for the N5.

Anyone have anything to say in support of the OPO in this regard?

My phone has the yellow tint and it is pretty much not noticeable. You'd really have to be looking for it. I'm a neat freak but still didn't notice till I read about it.

Had mine about a week now. I haven't had a search through the forums regarding this but I hope I am not the only one I have lines (maybe 4mm thick) that pop up across the screen every now and then is this a common problem?

I was told the exact same thing by someone I know who has one. He said you will only ever have it if you intentionally go searching for it.

I don't think so! Never heard of anyone with that before.

Thats not good then! I'll try grab a screenshot next time it happens. I can't seem to find a way to make it happen I thought it was connected to having a few apps running but have a load running now and its fine. It actually seems to have stopped since I updated Avast so maybe it was an issue with that.

Good to know, I'm anal about that stuff too.

It's a bug in 38R. A temporary workaround is to disable hardware overlays in the developer options. See here for info. Should be fixed in the next update, hopefully.

Everytime I pop back to this thread there seems to be some sort of issue with someones OPO. Now I know negatives are always shown up more than positives but now that most of you have had the phone for a decent period, are any issues you've had been mostly software related and been fixed or likely to be fixed in the next update like above?

Other than the line issue I have found the phone to be amazing I switched from a Z1 which is a superb phone but this is a level above that for sure. Only downside for me is that the phone isn't waterproof that is probably the only thing they have missed.

I have the phone since early July and have no complaints. The battery performance was drastically reduced after an update but that problem has been sorted.Maybe I have been very lucky so far.Any bug I have seen reported seem to get fixed easily enough.

I got the phone a good few weeks back and to be honest the few complaints I have mostly minor are nothing in comparison to how good the device is most of the time.
There seems to be an issue with the kernel that causes the lines to display. A kernel update should fix it I believe which will hopefully come with the next update. As this issue didn't happen in the previous firmware this is definately software/driver related.
I did also have an issue with the previous software version regarding pinch to zoom, where multi-touch went mad until you rebooted after a while. It was to do with the Synaptics touchscreen driver apparently and I think it's been fixed in 38R, well I've not had the issue since upgrading. It's not the first time mobile phone manufacturer has had bugs introduced with an update, some major ones recently from one of the larger competitors springs to mind!
I probably wouldn't recommend this phone to a technically illiterate user, but for people interested or even semi interested in technology it's a great device for the price. Never slows down, fantastic specs and unbeatable price!
Also with regards to the yellow band issue, either my phone doesn't have it, or I've not noticed it. The display quality is excellent.

Very much appreciate the replies lads. Its good to get some proper detailed feedback rather than just hearing all good or all bad.

I cant see myself getting one during the Pre-Order as it will be so hectic but hopefully via invite after that.
The One M7 I have is a great phone but its Ultra Pixel camera was never satisfactory for me especially now it has the pink hue problem.

    Thanks :)

I have had no issues with my phone and I have it a good few weeks now. I never had the multi touch issue and my battery life is good. I have one reboot since I got it and that was a few days ago. I think it was the app popcorn time as it is in beta. I had it loading a HD movie for me and I was all set to watch it later that night and was on my pc with phone beside me and heard a sound and looked at phone and it was rebooting. Good app as well as it had finished loading and saved the file on phone before it rebooted. I still don't know was it the phone itself or the app that caused the reboot, but like I said that is the one and only time I got a reboot.

Ok for those of you like me who have the Oneplus one and didn't know what the raw image file was. This video below will let you know. Sorry I can't embed it I'm on my phone.

Have many people moved from a Nexus 5 to the oneplus?
    Worth the jump?

Have a pre order ready to go but a bit unsure...

How big are the raw files? I couldn't get it to work for mute

    13MP RAW/DNG files are 16MB.

That's weird, they are there now. Is there any apps that can actually take advantage of and process raw files?

Photoshop, lightroom etc. on your desktop/laptop. Raw files are only useful for post-processing images.

It's really only for people who like to tinker with an image, amateur photographers like myself. Something like the below, although that was my first properly editted photo and it's nowhere near the best it was the only one I have an original of to show the differences.

How do you change the settings to raw file it, or is it just save as raw file image? do i then connect the phone to my pc and copy them that way to tinker?

I think so. I sold a n5 thinking to get a n6 but got a opo instead and definetly feels like a step up. I'm just hoping the upgrades will be fast as that was the key point with the n5

So in the original camera app there's an option under camera which says "save raw image" have that on and it will create a .dng file (if i remember right) and then also the jpeg image. Then yes, you'll need to hook up to the pc in order to copy it over.

I have not played with the raw images at all yet actually, I must give it a go this week.

Nope all the swipe actions working just fine for me with Nova.

Figured it out. Gestures are only enabled with Nova Prime... Aka the paid version. Freebie one doesn't do it.

Nova prime is definitely worth the money.

I tuned off all but the camera gesture, and it's working with Cheap Bastard Nova

Photo Mate R2 I've only had a very brief play with it but seems good enough. Expensive though. I have photoshop which would be best for any serious work.

I have heard very good things about a free and open-source RAW editor called RawTherapee, although I haven't used it on any of my own photos.

    rawtherapee . com

There is also a deal currently to get DxO Optics Pro 8 for free (they have released a new version). I've only played with it briefly but the output looks good, and you can't beat the price for pro software.

I downloaded a free raw image editor called UFraw. Very complicated, only messed with it for a few mins but if you have the patience to sit down and figure out how to work it, it would be perfect rather than spending bucks on photoshop etc..
