Ok so nidge wants to kill paddy incase fran finds out about him pipebombing his house. He had fran tied to a fcuking chair at his mercy and kept him alive why??

That was his chance to clear one of his problems as fran really is not offering much to him apart from being a lacky. To me he was kept alive for the sake of the show, not for the sake of the empire.

Thought the same, made no sense keeping him alive logically.

To use something in The Wire since you brought it up,

Stringer Bell was one of the most important characters in the show, but for the sake of the story it made sense for him to be killed how he was. Still devastating to me mind you, but it made sense. Nidge having the opportunity to take out Fran, when he knows the Pikey is gunning for him made no sense.

I was under the impression that Nidge wants Fran alive simply because he adds a certain fear factor to the whole group. I mean Ado and Elmo aren't exactly the most terrifying, nor intelligent.

Fran brings a raw fury to the group and maybe Nidge wanted to try one last time to harness it should he need it.

Yes, and Nidge knows Fran is genuine as well. It was Fran who helped Nidge with the Git problem, etc. Nidge felt he could remind Fran who was boss, get rid of Paddy easily (his 2 attempts to kill him and his 1 attempt to buy him backfired). Now, Nidge has both Paddy and Fran against him.

Nidge will arrange a meeting with Noelie and try and have Fran clipped? And will Paulie be able to 'hunt down Paddy for sport' as he promised?

Yeah, I think Nidge thought it would work out ok with Fran once the Paddy problem was sorted, but as usual with Nidge, things have a habit of going wrong with or without his influence.

I'm not sure of the Noelie angle but hopefully we will have more of an idea come tonights episode. However I think the better storyline would be for Fran to be released somehow or be allowed to stew in prison until the next series where he can then exact revenge. If the writers were to avoid that, albeit obvious, but very exciting storyline I would disappointed.

As I have said in previous pages on this thread, I find Paulie to be an extremely interesting character and I think he will have a major role to play, be it with Paddy or with Siobhan (who I think will be clipped)
