Just been told that there is no international cap add ons. The add ons are all club related.

Surely that can't be the only work done so far at Limerick's new gaffe after nearly two years?

Unless that's an old pic, or something else is out of shot, then they've basically installed a new pitch and that's it.

The Magic Airplane treatment in play. He becomes international standard after 5 weeks at Hull. Has he even togged out for them? Don't get me wrong, happy for Brian and he's a good footballer but the utter contempt shown for the League's players is beyond a joke. Same happened with Keith Fahey the second he moved from Pats. Ian Bermingham is a chap who is miles ahead of Stephen Ward but he won't get a look in either. Sad.

Doesn't reflect very well on O'Neill imo. If he's picked Lenihan now without a single EPL game under his belt then he clearly rated him all along - but didn't have the guts to pick an LOI player. All a bit pififul, really.

I wonder what input Roy Keane had. He's been to the Cross a good few times this year so he would have been very aware of Lenihan.

I think Keanes influence is pretty large here. When there was talk of him taking the Celtic job the talk was his first 2 signings were Lenihan and Buckley from CCFC.

Lenihan here has only been brought up as cover as Coleman is not available. So the argument could be made that had Lenihan still been at CCFC he would have been called up this time anyway.

Its a big oppurtunity for him. I hope he gains great bebfit from the experience and pushes on to the first team at Hull soon.

Just gonna post this in here aswell seeing as the topic seems to be getting a fair bit of discussion in both threads

Just to clarify, to avoid deriving conclusions based on pre-conceived ideas, would we be saying the same about Hull if Ireland had called him up first?

Or is the notion that those things that made him attractive to Hull around this time, also made him attractive to Ireland around this time completely inplausible?

I mean a decent number of players do go to England every year from our league. That magic airplane must be getting lost in the air very frequently if it doesn't land in the Irish training camp for those ones.

In other news...Stephen O'Donnell set to return for Dundalk.Plays in a friendly tonight at Oriel Park. It's a bit of a miracle that he's at this stage of his recovery when you remember the injury he picked up!

Even though I despise O'Donnell, it's great that he's getting healthy. Any word on young Vernon at Pats?

I think he played most of the first round of games before he was injured.

Any truth in the rumours about Graham Kavanagh/Steve Staunton for Sligo?

    Please let this be true.

When we were throwing free money at the likes of Keane and others coming back from UK, Kavanagh rumoured to have wanted 5k to play LOI this was after he had retired.

This appointment is absolutely nailed on. Get down to the bookies and stick everything you've got on it - and I mean everything! Would I steer you wrong?

    You can thank me later.

    Alright alright.

Kavanagh is a free agent though. :)

He may be a free agent but he works with the FAI in South Dublin or Wicklow afaik, also has a kid. Can't see him upping and moving.

Brennan misses his 12th match of the season due to suspension.

Apart from the related fines, isn't the LOI suspensions system ridiculously strict?

I'll have to dig it out again later, but compared to many leagues, you get banned quick and often if you start picking up bookings.

With tackles like that, 12 games sounds about right for Brennan.

Same as Rory Patterson with us, but you know how you stop getting bookings for mouthing off?

Nice. "Galway FC" always sounded weird to me.
