Two Words: Puff Pastry. :o

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

―Oscar Wilde predicting Social Media, in The Picture of Dorian Gray

People getting their priorities wrong. I supoprt animal rights and am involved in various campaigns for change in welfare laws etc but it really annoys me when so called "activists" just píss everyone off and get a bad name for those of us who do genuine work for change. Or the ones who cannot see the bigger picture. Classic example? 40,000 people protest over the putting down of a dog whose owner has ebola. Where are these people when there are dogs in China packed into cages and hosed down before being skinned and eaten? Are they lobbying their politicians to increase punishment for acts of animal cruelty? Do they buy trays of battery hen eggs? Do they encourage people to boycott the circus/seaworld etc? Do they even know there are bears being kept chained with permanent gaping wounds so that bile can be filtered from them because some halfwits think this is therapeutic? That a mother bear in such conditions last year killed her cub and then herself? I know that every animal is important but this is one dog, and there are huge injustices against millions of animals every day on this planet and you dont see 40,000 people getting worked up about it. The animal has to become media's darling before it has a voice. They are probably the same ones who had mini breakdowns last year when a certain fictional show that regularly shows brutal violence inflicted on people dared to show a cat being killed. Just...raar :(

Get onto my gym's app to try and book a morning spin class 7 days away. Fully booked already after the listing for that day only went up this morning. Not looking forward to another winter of that crap.

Browsing Boards on a phone, spotting a post you want to quote, but waiting until you've caught up with the most recent post to make sure someone else hasn't made your point (therefore looking stupid ), and then having to go back pages to try and find the post you wanted to quote in the first place!!!!

    (Phew - that was exhausting)

I'm glad I'm not alone in this! It's awful! And it makes me feel so guilty!

We should form a group where we all get to go somewhere and sit in complete silence :D
There's nothing worse than the sound of two people slobbering over each other like a couple of basset hounds.

I also sit close to a couple of snot-sniffers and swallowers in work - just get a tissue and blow your nose for feck sake.

That just turns my stomach. <snip>

My trivial annoyance is that anytime I say the words "I have some good news" the reaction from everyone is the same, looks at face, looks at stomach and says "OHMYGOD! You're pregnant!"
    NO.
I'm not looking particularly round in the belly region, it's just that mindframe of "you're married, you must now procreate"

The multiquote button is your new friend, once you press it, it will just add the post to your next reply on thread. So hit it, then if not needed when you are replying, delete the quote that appears in your reply message. BOOM.

My annoyance right f*cking now. I mean right now....rage....I got a Mocha from the fancy coffee machine in work, sit down to write a report, take a swig of the joe.....ewch, no chocolate in it, tastes like mank. But because I'm a stubborn git, i'm going to finish it and not complain to anyone.

Do you think I'd get into trouble if I smacked her head off her desk and broke her nose?

No, you'd probably get a medal form your other work colleagues.

as I approach the bottom, the liquid appears to be getting darker.....has all the choco goodness sunk to the bottom?

That just turns my stomach. One of the washing machine mouths I work with is constantly sniffing and snorting when she's talking to you. Do you think I'd get into trouble if I smacked her head off her desk and broke her nose?

    Sign me up. :D

Re washing machine mouth... yes, probably :pac:

My sons school is obsessed with getting awards. Not academic ones, but the 'status' ones such as the green flag environmental award and some sort of EU awareness flag award.

I don't have any problem with the school working towards these, just so long as they don't interfere with teaching.

The headteacher called my wife in for a chat this morning. Her first thought was that our son had done something. Nope, he actually told her she needs to stop driving our son to school as he needs a few more pupils arriving by foot/public transport to help get the green flag. When she said she couldn't he tried to guilt trip her by telling her it was really important for the kids to get this award.

She wouldn't have minded as much if it wasn't for the fact that the school has a 'green' policy of not allowing pupils to put lunch rubbish in school bins, it all has to come home - even the leftover food.

There is no multiquote button for mobile. Well not on the touch website anyway. :(

The way some people won't let things go. You keep a dog with a bloody bone.

The way the tube of Pringles is big enough that I can fit my entire hand down cause god forbid half the tube would be enough. If I eat much more of them I guess my hand won't fit in the tube. Seems fair

God I hate part time exercisers and cross fitters!

Lose a few pounds in October/November just so they can undo it all over Christmas three-fold.

Then you've to listen to them moan about how much weight they put on and the new 'in' exercise classes they'll be taking in January to lose it again.

    F*ck off!

Getting lovely and warm in the shower only to be hit by a wall of cold air upon getting out. I'm freezing again by the time I get my clothes on!

Ballinsloe Horse Fair and that element it attracts that treat their animals like pieces of rubbish to be used/abused and dumped/passed on when of no use anymore. Some of the pictures I am seeing are just horrible. And then RTE NEws do a big fluff piece on it and about how it is a great Irish tradition. Sickening.

I hate "The Fair", and all the moist eyed sentiment my wife and her friends have about it. Crowds of young fellas with pointy shoes, nice shirts and bad hair, going round in gangs trying to cause trouble. There isn't a stick big enough for them......

I hate the way that old muscle injuries flare up in cold/damp weather. My dodgy leg is achey, somebody should give me a hand bell and I could wander the streets ringing it shouting 'bring out your dead' :D

Someone moron complaining to me and when I try to explain that he has in fact, made a mistake and that is how he cannot do XY and Z, he says, "I can't hear you I left my hearing aid at home" - well that's just fúcking convenient isn't it? A get out of jail card that lets you shout off to others without having to listen to a reasonable and logical response that throws light on your rubbishy ramblings. How fúcking convenient for you to be shielded from your own stupidity while inflicting it on others :(
