Possibly addicted to Iron supplements

It started last week. I was visiting the sister and was feeling a bit tired and under the weather. She mentioned these Iron supplements you can take, said they did wonders for her and gave me 1 with some orange. I dropped it back and anyway headed off home. It tastes kind of funny but you get used to it.

On the walk home I started feeling a kind of buzz. If you've ever had an adrenaline rush or tried amphetamines you'll understand me. Nowhere near as strong but still noticeable. I felt really good, no longer tired, happy actually.

The next day I went and bought a box of 28 sachets for a tenner. They went pretty quick. I'm on my second box now but it's already half way gone through. I am going through these things like fire. Does Iron have some kind of addictive property? I might go have one now with some orange juice.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Wait till you try injecting them?

    Are you, by chance, anemic?

Just don't walk under any giant magnets, safe enough otherwise

You might want to see a doctor about that. Too much iron can be pretty dangerous

****ing 'ell. It's like you try take something to make yourself healthy and it turns out its not good to take 8 sachets of it in one day. I hate that **** with health professionals. Wine is good for you, no wine is bad. This is good for you. NO! It's actually bad.

I have googled Anemic. I don't feel any confusion or weakness nor does my skin look pale.

I don't know much about it, but if taking a load of iron supplements really makes you feel better then there's more than likely a good reason for that. Otherwise it's just in your head and you're slowly overdosing yourself.

In any case your shites must be as black as fcuk from downing 8 sachets a day ಠ_ಠ

Water is good for you too, but if you drink 50 litres of it you might just die

Iron not sure if its bad for you, it is expensive though, you will have to start steeling them soon.

No medical advise will be given here, but you could have an iron deficiency, you should go to your doctor !

OP I'm sorry to burst your bubble but Iron supplements take a week to have any impact at all your system. In addition, taking more than 45mg per day leads, without fail, to liver failure and internal bleeding. Seriously, stop taking more than the recommended daily dosage. The euphoric effects are all in your head.

It's only a short hop from iron to heroin..if you start craving He, you're on the slippery slope.

Wow. Iron supplements do to me what that Diaphane stuff does (that thing you take for inflammation - don't know how to spell it). First ten minutes, it's all good. The next 12 hours are crippling hell.

You must have the constitution of an ox.

Good luck trying to poo after all that iron!

Actually man, have you considered the possibility that you're some kind of android or 'robo man'?

Had that Diaphane stuff before. It's absolute ****ing poison. I had Tonsilitis but the Diaphane made me sicker than the tonsilitis ever could have. Scummy stuff tbh.

Yeah be careful. I had to get bled weekly for having too much iron in my blood. The doctors said it could lead to organ failure.

Wouldn't want your organ to fail.

This is hilarious. OP, it's all in your head. You get no "buzz" off iron supplements. But be careful with how many you take, can have bad consequences apparently.

I'm telling you it's good. Come over and we'll chop up some lines of the stuff and watch Golden Girls.

Have you got enlarged incisors, fear of garlic and a reluctance to play under lights?
