Hold on, is it only a 6-month commitment or is there a per month commitment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 609 ✭✭✭colmufc

If there is any difference from the USA version to the UK ireland version Il just get the vpn and it can be used for other stuff but I'm still sickened it's more than anywhere else in the whole bloody world

agreed to a point I'd have no issue if the prices were different worldwide but the only country not paying (roughly) 9.99 a month is ireland ,i'm just sick of this place in that sence

Discussions with potential partners? Doesn't sound good at all... Looking like a channel on Sky like Canada has so

And the speculation of our version of WWE Network continues. :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,448 ✭✭✭Garseys

So thats why we heard nothing about it. Sky are going to launch it as a channel arent they?:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,556 ✭✭✭Blue_Dabadee

Yeah, I think Sky probably want some form of control over WWE Network and make it pay-tv channel. Signs were pointing that we were not going to get screwed over with pricing details that came out last week.

I'm guessing they only recently approached them about it then? Since the pricing came out.

Obviously Sky are gonna give them a lot of money for this but you're immediately limiting your subscriber numbers, limiting the amount of potential customers and not giving them a satisfactory product (WWE Netpack in Canada).

    How is this good business?

So the likelyhood is we'll get
-No PPV's on the network, still on SBO
-RAW, Smackdown and NXT will still only be available on Sky Sports
-Whatever looped stuff they plan on having on the actual station.
-Very limited on demand library. (I can't forsee sky putting that much content on demand)

WWE for once, surprise me with something good.

I unfounded fears could become a reality :(

From F4WOnline and read it carefully:
WWE announced Monday that the U.K. network launch has been delayed "given discussions with potential partners" and that a new launch date will be announced by November 1st.

The new launch date isn't even November 1st.

Had a read of that link ... am I wrong, or are they only announcing the launch date on November 1st ... so could waiting any length of time after that. Wouldn't be shocked to see the network properly launched sometime well into the new year.

Let me speak for us all when I say "SKY SPORTS CAN F*** OFF!!!!".

Just give us the network like they have in the states and leave it at that:mad:

Only way I'd even consider getting it was if we had a deal like the US. A channel on Sky would be a crock of shíte.

Was only considering getting it for the back catalogue really, this could be a game changer, shame!

Just to assure anyone who was worried otherwise, I've got it on good authority the UK version of the network will indeed have all the live PPV's.

Not being smart but can you check with whoever was filling you in and see do they know what the score is now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

WWE having partners is very smart on there side to be honest.

If it is with Sky they can now inflate the subscriber numbers to whatever Sky say.

If Sky has say 1 million Sky Sports Subscribers and the Network is on Sky Sports the WWE can claim the have 1 million subscribers even if only 10% of those subscribers watch WWE.

They also know that plenty won't subscribe to Sky but will have the know how to join the US Network so that will help keep the numbers up on that as well.

Same as myself. Don't have sky, and planning on getting it in any time soon. Even without access to the current shows/ppv I would consider it, but no access to back catalogue at all, then absolutely no chance of me signing up.

I had sky from the time i was 15, up until April of this year. I'm 30 now. For the last few years, i wanted to drop Sky, the only reason I had it was for the WWE.

I moved house in April, and couldn't recieve a satelitte signal at my new house. Sky bit the bullet. And i don;t miss it one bit. I've got the WWE Network now. Don't watch Raw or Smackdown any more, and quite frankly, don't miss them.

    You're not wrong there.

RAW and SD are not "must-see" TV to keep up with the story.

Afterburn / Bottom line tell you everything you need to know. LIkewise with Main event, superstars etc.

Just reading it again I can see no mention of it being delayed in Ireland just the UK.

I guess we find out tomorrow.

Edit; Just checked the WWE website is the Network availiabe in your country and we are lumped in with/as part of the UK.

WWE usually lump Ireland in with the UK so I doubt anything will happen tomorrow

If WWE Network does not have PPV's then I dont see it being sucessful over here and wont be paying for it under UK model if they dont have PPV's.

I bet we wont get WWE Network till January in my opnion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭The Ayatolla

I predicted this as soon as the Canadian version was announced. There HAD to be a reason for the delayed launch in UK/ROI

I wonder will we know the details of it by November 1st or just the launch date.

Fully expect something like the Canadian channel anyway. Linear channel plus minimal on-demand stuff.

Might still be handy if it has the PPV's. Can just series link a lot of the original shows.

Mine was working perfectly up til now! I've been rumbled. Time to cancel?

Your VPN configured correctly? Which service are you using?

Seems to be an unblock-us problem. Checked vpn settings on all devices. Re entered them and re saved. Changed region to us but still netflix locked on Irish. So some kind of a problem with unblock it seems.

unblock-us can be a bit of a pain sometimes. Every day, I have to go onto the site on my ps4,as "it appears your Internet address has changed " No. No, it hasnt

It has changed in the sense that you are using a different server than the one you were attached to the last time you used there service. Your account and address has changed in that sense that is why they get you to update.

For there service to work they bounce you off many different servers that need to be signed into with your account not your ip address.
