    How did Canada get screwed?

Haven't been paying much attention to he network as it wasn't available. But did they not get the full version in Canada or something?

They got the 24/7 "Channel" as part of their cable/satellite subscription. No access to the online "Over the top" version (unless they use USA/VPN method).

They also got a little bit of on-demand content accessible through their box.

I fear our UK version could be the same.

Also about only half of Canada have access to the Rodgers Network that show the WWE Network at the moment and those who do have access have to buy Rodgers basic package before you can gain access to the WWE Network. Which is more than $9.99.

So think if the WWE Network went on Sky you would have to pay for the Sports package to get it.

I fear our UK version could be the same.

But it is a fear based on absolutely nothing.

The Canadian deal was down to certain exclusivity granted to one particular broadcaster. Now true, Sky could have that same exclusivity but considering the WWE knew all about the Network at the time that they negotiated the Sky contract I would be surprised if they willingly surrendered their second(?) biggest market.

We'll find out in a few days.

If it is then there's no chance of me signing up. That's ridiculous. Only point in having the network is having access to everything.

Fear based on the fact that UK/ROI didn't get the launch with the other 170 countries. A bit odd for your second biggest market wouldn't ya say? :-/

They're obviously ironing out something with Sky.

Keep the US version with a VPN. Been working splendidly for me the last 6 months. Will also likely work out cheaper. I share my WWE sub with a buddy of mine.

All I'm short is Chromecast support :(

The delay was down to the ending of the existing PPV deal was it not? Which expired with Night of Champions.

As I said, we'll see how it plays out the next few days.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it launched as an "on demand" service for the back catalogue of shows through the Sky box and have he PPVs on Box Office as normal.

Meh, don't care as in keeping my US and Unblock-US sub. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

    I'd be very surprised.

I can't figure whether it'd be worth the money if it was just all the back catalogue of PPVs and shows. Tonne of content but would probably feel at bit short changed.

I'm amazed the yanks haven't lapped the network up. They are PPV for every PPV how they haven't figured that the network pays for itself is beyond me.

It's 'Murica! - They probably see the 6 month commitment as a bad thing, and would prefer to make a one off payment per PPV. I can't understand why they wouldn't sign up myself - the Network is savage value

Part of the problem is that PPVs are available to download literally within minutes of them finishing live so I guess the thinking is why bother?

That and the fact that WWE nowadays is godawful 95% of the time.

Most WWE fans don't have the technological know-how to get the WWE network (and so buy the PPV instead) let alone download it illegally. I think forums are a really skewed section as we're the most tech advanced wrestling fans - and also representing a tiny fraction. Pirating-wise, we're talking cumulatively about 20,000 who likely wouldn't buy it anyway.

That said, yes, the WWE Network (for hardcore fans) is absolutely incredible value!

The ECW episode of the Monday Night War:

    http://network.wwe.com/video/v36494697

Looking forward to WWE taking a disportionate credit for ECW all because they paid them $1,000 a month.

One week away today from the Irish launch and I HAVEN'T SEEN ONE ADVERTISEMENT IN THE IRISH TIMES!!!

The WWE really hasn't a clue in general with what they are doing with the Network.

On RAW telling fans not to pay $50 for a PPV and join the Network for $9.99 is just crazy from a money and marketing point of view.

It seems to me they are no just cutting off their nose to spite their face right now.

I'd have Sheamus visiting primary schools all September shilling the WWE Network.

So strange. Vince says he loaned ECW 100's of thousands of dollars.

Heyman says they got $1000 a week for Flash Funk's advertising revenue and that's it.

    Who to believe :P

They loaned ECW something like $500,000 towards the very end and when the promotion was way past it's Creative peak.

Ambrose on the Miz TV on Main Event was good fun.

    Skip everything else.

It's their long term plan. They believe that if somebody signs up to the Network, they will sign up for life due to the amount of content already up and the consistency of monthly PPV's. As opposed to somebody wanting to pay $50 to see Lesnar vs Cena as a one shot.

I've just come across a thread on sky's website that the wwe app has been updated in the app store for iPhone and has an in app purchase price of €39.99 for 6 months

Just checked on my phone it's €54.99 for a 6 month sub.

That about €10 more so $70 for 6 months instaed of $59.94 for a US sub.

Just to assure anyone who was worried otherwise, I've got it on good authority the UK version of the network will indeed have all the live PPV's.

Quite frankly, I don't know how anyone thought they'd attempt to launch in their second biggest market without their biggest draw, and that's not even factoring in that they had Sky over a barrel because of the BT interest.

sickening we get screwed for everything I know it's only a tenner over 6 months but it's just ridiculous we have to pay more , I checked my app (android) no place to pay that I cam find , only 6 days away and no push anywhere about it

Frankly the VPN is handy for other stuff, so I'll probably stick to the US sub.
