Andre beats Bam Bam in a great bout. Bam Bam very much like Vader, almost cut from the same cloth, find it hard to suppress utter icons of wrestling in both Andre and Taker. Two brilliant Semis with WM12 rematch and a dream match for two guys that were one stage billed as kayfabe father and son.

So we have our two semi finals. It is Andre VS Big Show and The Undertaker VS Diesel.

We kick off with the Giants. No limited I will give this a few hours and we'll call it a day maybe late tonight or in the morn.
    Semi Final 1

Andre. I really don't like Big Show at all

Andre for me too. One of the best big men and never have had any love for the Big Show.

Hmmm.... Gonna go with Big Show here, more my era and loved his early work as I said before. Andre, while great could barely move around the ring.

Andre again for me. He defines BIG for me in every way.

    Andre.

Okay so Show was like a younger faster, more agile Andre but Andre was the larger than life big man that broke the mold and was a true global star, he made you go wow when it wasnt all shock tactics like in the attitude era and when Show was at his most prominent.

Andre simply deserves to lose in the final :pac:

Giving it to Big Show. Much more capable in the ring than Andre. Many better matches as well, against several different opponents. A former WCW, WWE and ECW champion.

Andre, more charasmatic and more iconic then Show. And if you go way back before his WWE runs he was pretty agile for his size too.

Andre over the Big Show. I do think that Big Show is probably the more skilled wrestler, and if he had been around back in the day, he would have been the bigger name, but he wasn't, Andre was, and he defined what it is to be a giant in wrestling.

Can't believe Yoko went out so early, agreed Andre wa the ultimate big man, but poor Yoko was a sight to behold in his own way. As I said Andre is the ultimate big man. Obviously I grew up watching show but Andre had an aura about him and still does to this day which Big Show lost yearly when he built up some cred.

    OBEY!

Exactly this. Andre was absolute cack. Matches were just stupid looking, especially the tying himself up in the ropes bit. Big Show, or rather Giant, could move well and could throw drop kicks and do a nip up. Plus he had personality.

Big Show for me. I seen a lot more of his matches and preferred them too.

So the 8th wonder of the world knocks out his protégé. The Big Slow has a very impressive showing for somebody that has been viewed as stale and boring in recent times. In our second semi-final we have two guys that led the new generation. One went on to sail the WWE ship through the Monday night wars and the other guy has driving the pirate that was firing the cannons at time. Dark lord of the Ministry and cool dude of the NWO. Diesel VS The Undertaker.

Diesel. I'll never like Undertaker knowing the Kanyon story

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 129 ✭✭Sin Eater

The Undertaker. Quite frankly he's the greatest big man of all time. He has been towards the top of the wrestling world for 24 odd years, is a household name, and has been stealing the spotlight at wrestlemania for years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,019 ✭✭✭✭beakerjoe

Ah It has to be Taker. Best big man in the business and the main attraction at WM for the last 6-7 years. No body does it better. He made teh undertakler gimmick work and gave it more legs than it should have ever had. Also Nash sucks. Over rated to bits, only got where he is based on his friends.

Go on..... Im unaware of the Kanyon story

Undertaker. Stated my reasons already in the last round. Countless match of the year candidates, multi world title reigns, and the Streak.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

Taker all the way, so many memories. Sure, the Kanyon thing is a blip on an otherwise impeccable chart.

I like big Kev, but he's no Undertaker when it comes to match quality, legacy, presence, and many other clichéd attributes!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 23,053 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

    Kanyon stuff aside...

    Taker.

He is the greatest big man of all time imo His matches vs HBK at mania alone are better than anything any of these other big man could do match quality wize. Best Gimmick of all time. WWEs stalwart who had some great times like The Ministry, his HIAC bouts obviously highlighted by KOTR 98 and.... wait I should save some for why he should win the final

Undertaker for me. One of my favourite wrestlers growing up and found his matches more entertaining than Diesel's and his character too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Diesel has no chance here. Taker is superior in every way.

The Kanyon stuff obviously doesn't look great, but it doesn't take away from the sheer length oh his career and countless great matches.

For me it makes him a horrible person and that shapes my entire view of him

So there we have it. With must debate Takers goes through. Our Final Andre VS Undertaker. Will let it ride for the rest of the day, most votes win.

Andre has that special aura about him but so does taker tbh

When you move past that with Andre unless you go back to before most posters here were born Andre wasn't exactly the best in the ring and didn't have too many classics but taker vs HBK, Foley, HHH, Angle etc were all brilliant

He had the best gimmick ever IMO and with it lead a top stable in the form of the Ministry.

He had a truly great entrance and reinvented himself brilliantly with the American badass, big evil etc.

He was for WWF what Sting was for WCW the man who never left and the man who they could rely on.

I could go on but I think its obvious I'm voting for taker. The best big man ever IMO and tbh I personally would have Vader number 2 not Andre although the big fellah was a legend

Undertaker for me too. I grew up watching the man, and the gimmick would never have survived a year in anyone else's hands. Taker found ways to breathe life back into his character to stop himself from going stale, and will surely go down as one of the best ever.

The Streak in its later years dominated Wrestlemanias and the breaking of it produced one of the greatest (for better or worse) and shocking moments in wrestling history.

Undertaker. He has everything, size, speed, agility, prescence, charisma. Many many classic matches down through the years. Deadly feuds with many of the top stars down through the ages.

Andre, well, every time i think of him, it's winning the Battle Royal at Wrestlemania, or being slammed by Hogan. And thats about it.

Undertaker for me, every day of the week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,146 ✭✭✭Kankan14

    Taker for me.

Longevity of character, charisma and countless superb matches.

Most important of all he was so agile/skilful for a big man in the ring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Undertaker. BH pretty much outlined my explanation :pac:

Taker had more memorable moments and matches for me.

The Undertaker. Quite simply the best big man that has been in he business (that I am aware of). Since the days of Hulk Hogan the Undertaker has been a draw, he has seen Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Sid, Bret Hart, Diesel, Steve Austin, The Rock, Edge, Batista, and dozens of others come to the WWE and go from the WWE, and he has always been towards the top!
