2 more yellows for the midfielders, interesting first half. Having been 4 down in 4 mins Donegal will be very happy at ht. First 10-15 mins of second half could win or lose it.

He is trying to let the game flow. There would be a free every 30 secs otherwise.

Letting the game flow and having a grip on the game are two different things - frees in scorable positions that are definitely frees not being given. Two Kerry frees, once inside the 45 and one just outside it he missed. Blatent fouling and leaving it go is not leaving the game flow

Very tense match so far very similar to the 2011 final.

Thge decision not to give a 45 to Donegal after Darach O'Connors shot despite it being touched twice by Kerry players after his shot is without doubt one oif the worst pieces of umpiring I have seen.If Donegal lose by a point it could prove to be a very costly call.

Crap match. Two packed defences by teams more concerned with not losing the game than winning it.

Yet he's given some complete non frees to both teams.

Poor game so far. Donegal finding it hard to break through Kerry's packed defence (never though I'd say that). But it's a big thing that they got level at half time.

Doesn't really feel like a final.. Bit of an anti-climax... especially after how incredibly good both the hurling and football games have been recently..

Poor first half. Kinsella doing well letting game flow missed a few things noting major. I think Kerrys stronger bench will win it for them but it's going to be tight that's for sure.

Think I'll be switching over to the other football after that first half. That was terrible.

Shocking final so far - but the players don't care. Its what doing what is required to win.

Donegal aren't being allowed to break quickly, when they play that game it is something that is great to watch - only one maybe two men running when they turn the ball over on the 45, against Dublin they broke in threes and fours.

Kerry playing defensive as well, getting a lot of players behind the ball to congest the space, but they were opened up twice if not three times that could have been possibly goals.

I think Jim McGuinness will be the happier manager - Donegal haven't played to their gameplan yet, and have most room for improvement. Super start by Kerry, but not built upon. Worry that O Donoghue seems to be off form, but other players are stepping up

A free is a freee. Just because their would be a "free" every 30 seconds as you say, does not mean he shouldnt be blowing for these frees!
If he gave the frees for fouls in the 1st 5min, the players would soon stop fouling

The amount of blocked runs is unreal too, Kerry could have any amount of black cards and Donegal 1 or 2

Joke! These lads train all year and this is what they train for, and you have a ref who wont use the rules!

    FARCE

I thought Kerry were suppossed to play an attacking style of football. Poor stuff. Pity it's not a Mayo/Dub final.

He missed very obvious things, which is poor refereeing!

Nobody really playing very well, Murphy and JOD not in the game much.

Christy Toye made a good impact after coming on

Not a great game. Kerry finding it very hard to break down Donegal's backline... O'Donoghue not in the game at all. Geaney doing well.

Donegal's counter-attacks aren't as incisive as we're generally used to, bit slower and Kerry are coping okay.

If it continues the way it's going, Donegal will win. Only thing is that Kerry look more likely to get goals.

Both Mayo & Dublin had plenty of chances to win their semis. They werent good enough to do it. So I dont know why people want to see two inferior teams in the final.

I don't like Brolly, but at least he has the b*lls not to sugar coat what is an awful game.... I'm sure Sky are probably telling their viewers that it's the best final ever....

Murphy needs to go back in full forward rather than being around the midfield area!

Finals are winning not for entertaining people. Both teams know that each other could destroy them in a 5 minute spell and they aren't taking any chances.

Finals always tend to be cagey affairs you can't expect teams to play nice open football when their is so much on the line. The second half is the time for opening up and going to win the game the first half is about setting up the victory and making sure your still in with a chance, both teams have given themselves a chance now.Second halves are almost always better than the opening half of a game.

Definitely not saying its a fantastic game - little bit of coating but not much.

    Canavan with some good analysis

Absolutely - you do what you have to to win

Not a good game to watch. But like O'Rourke, I find it intriguing.

Interesting how few chances donegal forwards have gotten from play

Am I right in thinking none of their forwards scored from play ?
4 frees, Lacey and Mac Niallais

Similarly has only Donaghy and Geaney scored for Kerry

To score enough to win, Kerry need their half forwards or midfield to chip in, but they can't do that sitting back in their own defence
