Why would Russia scorch the earth of a region it "wants to conquer"?

You don't really know what" scorched" earth means, do you!

I clearly stated Ukraine dont have the abilities to run scorched earth policy ,

One airport completely destroyed = Ukrainian scorched earth policy based off what exactly ,

Maybe you should read up on the Russian scorched earth policy in Afghanistan , and Chechnya twice

I understand its a huge shock to the system, but the "west" is in the wrong in this conflict.
I have Uk and American relations, get on great with them, have gone on holiday there and loved every minute of it, in fact i would class myself as a fan of the UK/USA lifestyle.
But unlike some posters here, people in the UK/USA can see this conflict is entirely made by the west.
Its easy for you to say fight Russia, but none of you will be fighting.
Ask a UK/USA Citizen and they will be less "Rambo" with their reaction to the Ukraine problem.

Still today 21 september 14 the west media and government has not shown us conclusive proof of a russian invasion of the Ukraine, where is the proof?(Facebook, twitter, youtube don't count).

Google earth has better photos of the ukraine than the pentagon?
Show us in the west the proof of a Russian invasion of the Ukraine .
Until the west backs up its claim of invasion with proof we are relying on the Kiev government as a reliable source.
The kiev government wants to built a wall to defend against russia and has said russia has used nukes against them!
Does this sound like the voice of a rational government?

You have been following the media lie, in years past it was very easy for the powers that be to sell a lie to the masses, but today with the internet and satellite TV it is a little harder..........It seems.

You have been given evidence of the madness of the Kiev government from the horses mouth.(Russia used Nukes, build a wall against Russia).

Yet there are posters here who find it hard to accept that have backed the wrong horse in this race.

    Yet again,
    Kiev says russina invades.
Kiev says russia shot down mh17.
    Kiev says russia used nukes.

You know what , Kiev has given us ZERO proof of all of these allegations.

    What will Kiev claim next?
Russia is the cause of Ebola.
Russia is the cause of global warming.

    Think before you post.

Let's face it, this conflict is being fought on a high propaganda profile with a dearth of real facts. Not many west of this catastrophe really care about the ethnic cleansing occurring in the Ukraine atm, because the media is not telling them to.
As an example, the day of the MH17 crash, Sky News concurrently ran the story of a new investigation into Alex Litvinenko's death(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Litvinenko), this was the first and last that we heard of this new investigation, even though it was headline news on that day.
But it was a desirable tactic to prompt a connection in viewers brains between Russia and tactical warfare.
BTW no link has ever been found to associate Litvinenko's death to Russian intervention. Why would they use such an obvious and traceable method which reeks of the western perception of how Ruskies operate, it's comical, which is why the new investigation suddenly dis-appeared, the next day in fact, (because it had served it's purpose).

We have witnessed how an upsurge of western support (despite years of propaganda), has helped Gazians, we need to do the same for the people of Donbass before it is too late.

How does that make it acceptable for Russia to invade and steal Ukrainian land? this thread is about Ukraine, Also I don't remember Russia making a big deal of the US attack on iraq.

And again I ask for proof of what you are saying.

If you're an advocate of people not wanting to live under the auspices of a government they don't want then surely you would support the aspirations of those who do not wish to live under the new Kiev government.
Not only that, but if you rail against Crimea being being returned to Russia under what I'm sure would call a sham referendum then how do you feel about Crimea being given to Ukraine without a referendum in the first place?

Now you just stated that Russia invaded and stole Ukrainian land. Please elaborate.

    When did an invasion occur?

Beautiful, the two ignoramus have put me on ignore, they can continue to live the lie in bliss.

Will be fantastic to see the two of them have a melt down when there position on the Ukraine conflict is proven to be be wrong.

i only have to wait for the truth to come out, but they will be constantly working online to promote the lie.
They constantly offer no proof , when proved wrong they ignore.

I do believe those like me who seek the truth have won this battle, no doubt there will be more battles ahead, but i shall endeavour to promote the truth against the onslaught of ignorance.

As someone who loves the west, tonight was a good result for those who seek the truth.
The propaganda merchants where flushed out.

It's ok lads soon people from Russia could find they can't participate in forums like this because their beloved leader and his cronies have decided to cut them off from the world.
Russia's Security Council will convene on Monday to discuss the government's ability to isolate the Russian segment of the internet from the global network during times of crisis, such as military action or foreign-sponsored protests, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday, confirming earlier speculation in Russian media.

LOL Russia is turning itself into North Korea.

It is hard to tell truth from propaganda in this conflict. One must look at all the presented information and decide for ones self what the 'truth' is.
Crimea was handed to Ukraine on a whim in the 50's I think. There was no referendum or effort to seek the peoples view on the matter. But then there was no referendum on it's absorbtion into the old Russian empire either, I'm sure the original Tatars would have had a view.
When the old USSR broke up, Crimea was part of Ukraine and agreements in relation to the Russian fleet base were made. In fact, as long as there was a Russian backed administration in Ukraine there appears to have been no problem with Crimea being Ukrainian. There was even an international agreement between Russia and Ukraine (and others) on decomissioning Ukraine's nuclear weapons, that agreement was with a Ukraine which included Crimea.
Then came the move towards Europe, swiftly followed by a 'referendum' in Crimea. Russia denied any involvement in the events at the time, but later we saw Putin on Russian TV in Crimea congratulating his troops who had 'facilitated' the 'referendum'. Had he been as facilitating of other popular movements, especially in Chechnia and Ingushetia, one might have come to different conclusions. He wasn't, I didn't. It was a land grab, just like in Georgia.

Military Plant In East Ukraine Devastated By Massive Explosion; Kiev Accuses Russia Of Using Tactial Nuke:

Last night's headlines crowed in bright red flashing text that Russia and Ukraine had (once again) agreed a cease-fire and terms over the borders between the two nations. Perhaps not surprisingly, mere hours later, Ukraine is claiming that Russia has broken the truce... with the use of a tactical nuclear weapon at Luhansk airport. This comes on the heels of claims by the pro-Russia separatists that Kiev forces destroyed a massive military plant in Donetsk. Russia's defense ministry flatly denies the 'nuclear strikes' adding that "no reasonable person will take them seriously." This truce-breaking action has once again raised calls among Ukrainians for the nation to get its nuclear status back; something Russia is clearly strongly against.
    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-09-20/military-plant-east-ukraine-devastated-massive-explosion-kiev-blames-accuses-russia-

oh dear. whilst the devastation appears quite complete Im not so sure it was a nuke.

NATO are, of course, refusing to release evidence on the grounds that it may threaten "national security" or some crap.

mmmcake, this conflict was engineered and effected by the west. That's no secret. The ouster of the previous Kiev government was orchestrated by Washington. Again, no secret. The problem is, at least to most of the people on this forum who quack like ducks, that Putin has outmaneuvred Washington and NATO at every turn and that irritates the sh!t out of them.

You will hear gibberish about how Putin is a dictator who crushes press freedom, attacks his neighbours, persecutes homosexuals, etc. But you will not hear that these outrages are conducted by Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the US and many other regimes.

You will read hubris, hypocrisy and contradictory lies on this thread, the like of which would make Goebbels blush.

    Just thought I'd warn you.
