Wow, that's some amount of disgust they cause you.

Pretty much. I wear them when I have to - at work in the winter, e.g. - but I can't think of a single scenario where I would find being in tights even remotely sexy.

Same. I wear tights to work because I can't wear stockings due to the nature of my job. Also wear black ones in winter.

    They're horrible things.

Smart casual for the most part. If heading out for a casual bite to eat or a few drinks then it will be dark jeans or chinos, a fitted shirt, blazer. Like to think I dress well, and in a style that suits my age. Nothing worse than seeing a man in his 30's wearing baggy bootcut jeans, converse runners and a cheap t-shirt.

Jealous you can't pull it off :P

Chinos? if you're not in One Direction of an Ivy League school from an 80's college movie about nerds getting revenge you have no place wearing them.

Tshirts can work well as long as they're not awful "return to pub" slogan ones, people who wear them are sad beyond belief.

I wear whatever I find comfortable, sometimes jeans, cons, fitted shirt. sometimes a suit just for the sake of it. Havent done that in a long time though.

I dress no different to the usually clothes I wear - casual shirt and jeans. Why should I change what I wear for anything less than an interview, wedding, christening or funeral?

Dresses, tights and boots in the Winter, dresses, bare legs and boots or sandals in the Summer. My boots are flat or would have a tiny heel. Don't do any proper heely shoes, even medium ones, as I can't walk in them.

Make up is mascara, bit of eye liner, sometimes eye shadow when I'm arsed, sometimes lipstick when I'm arsed. Don't wear foundation as I don't like the feel of it (unless it's a very special occasion). Basically as comfortable as possible so I'm not fixing myself all night. :)

Black trousers and an embellished top. I would love to wear dresses but I do not have the legs for them. I wear minimum make up, no fake tan (I have never found any that does not look orange on me) no fake lashes etc.

    Neither do I!!!

I don't think you need to have good legs to wear dresses. If you do, then I've been doing it wrong for years :P

Agreed. My legs are grand;nothing special. Still going to wear my dresses though! Dresses suit all women no matter what size.

It feels good to dress up somewhat when going out and puts out a good impression of yourself and shows you are interested in your appearance.

Tht said I don't have to change what I wear much for going out as my usually say to day close are often suitable.

Top hat, cane, faux moustache and the top half of a 3 piece suit. Then boxers and high socks with black leather shoes!

My ankles are as wide as my thighs. I fractured my leg once and the Doctor commented that he had never seen legs like mine before and that I must have a hard time buying boots. It really blew my confidence :o

    Tactless thing to say. Eejit.

I've a birth mark on my upper leg (common among blonde haired people) and I've had people react with, "OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUUUUU!!!". "Eh, you mustn't get out of the house much if you're shocked by a this", I say to myself. I've had other comments made over the years about other things but water of a duck's back, to be honest, particularly as I get older I've developed more of a "fcuk it" attitude with regards to my body (just need to develop that about other aspects of my life and I'll be grand). No one's perfect.

Tenner bets they're nowhere near as "bad" as you think. I've seen all kinds of legs under dresses and I still think dresses suit everyone (women...probably men too, in fairness).

Depends where I am going. I usually stick to rock bars, so it's generally a short black skirt, fishnets, a top of some description and a leather jacket. I can't do proper heels but have a couple of pairs I can dance in for the night and a pair of comfy comfy boots which are my fallback. Occasionally I'll wear a dress instead. If I am going to something a bit more mainstream I swap the fishnets for normal tights.

I never wear fake tan, I'm a pale redhead and it just doesn't suit me. I like my make up though, tend to go all out on the eyes, I like experimenting with different colours and I sometimes do fake eyelashes.

I disagree with that, totally look better in jeans than in a dress. Also feel more comfortable in them too.

I'd usually be more comfortable in a dress tbh!

I wish I could lol I just feel out of place when I wear a dress. I do admire dresses but never ever would wear one out apart from weddings.

Different stroke for different folks and all that :)

I'm a huge believer in just wearing what you're comfortable in, it really shows when you're not happy with what you're wearing.

Ah i'm not saying they're better than jeans and that all women should wear them just that I think (imo) all women can look good in a dress (there's a dress out there to suit all figures). If you don't like them then fair enough. :-)

Very much so.. I'm with you on the comfortable aspect, I lifted the son from night out few weeks ago and I honestly was in stitches laughing at the girls trying to walk in heels. Jeez if they could see how utterly ridiculous they looked holding on to each other for fear of falling over surely they would never be out of pumps.

Brown, granny support tights and the like, ok, but sheer, shiny black rights make my legs look waaaay better. Plus IMO things like stockings/knee-highs look well sexy. There are also beautiful patterned tights.

Wouldn't be feelin' the fishnet ones either though.

My sis in law (blonde) also has that on her leg. To me it's nothing, just a birthmark, but she feels self conscious about it - comments like the ones you've gotten would get to her. Some people have weird minds that they feel ok commenting on aspects of people's appearance that they'll likely feel sensitive about.

I don't think we're talking about "against the leg" kinda thing. They defo make my legs look better. I'm talking about the look of tights when otherwise naked. They're horrible! I'd take stockings any day of the week.

Even when you pull them right up to your boobs and it looks like you've no belly? Love da! Soxy!

I was sensitive about it but I suppose you build up a resistance to it when it's said repeatedly. Literally every time it's revealed to someone for the first time, they comment. Even the doctor last week asked me what happened and asked me had I injured myself (surprised she didn't recognise what it was). I'm sure they don't mean anything by it but if you're sensitive, it can sting. Goes for anything.

I've yet to manage wearing tights on a night out without getting a ladder in them, no matter how careful I am it always happens, so wear a slight bit of tan on legs just in case as they usually end up coming off half way through the night

Fancy pants, frilly shirt, glitter everywhere, feather boa and sometimes a tutu.

    Just like me da,

    Liberace?

I love wearing dresses on a night out, in particular pretty ones, not too sexy. I've come a long way from my army boots, combat trousers and oversized t-shirts!
