    Niyi v McFadden a draw?
    Jack McGrath < Denis Buckley?

    :pac:

Yes but Niyi won't be coming up against McFadden, on the wings it's Poolman v McFadden and Niyi v Fanning. Pretty even IMO.
Also, it's Buckley v Ross in the scrum. Ross on paper but he might be in for a surprise...

I'm going to say Mc Sharry & Henshaw > Madigan & Macken

    Mcfadden clearly ahead imo.

Buckley however will surprise ye, has been on a rampage this season and towards the end of the last one too

    Ok, I wasn't clear that's right

My head-to-head is not only based on talent and experience (absolute value), I said it at first, but also on fitness and momentum for a 1 match "fight", taking place on a precise date and dynamic

that's why I flattened the gap between Adeolakun and McFadd, the 1st is more healthy and has confidence. No way I'd say the same in absolute value

For Delahunt/Byrne I flattened because they're young enough to both miss completely the few minutes they'll play, or simply won't touch the ball
But if some say Byrne was that impressive last week, he had some time to find his feet, ok

Quick piece with Jack Rugby and Darragh Leader.....interesting to hear a young guy speak honestly and say how surreal it is for him to go up against his childhood heroes!!

Are Connacht in the replacement of what was the Challenge Cup? If yes, who are in their pool?

Have to admit can't wait to head up to the match this evening, unfortunately it's one of the few i'll be able to attend this season.

Here's hoping for a great match and a hopeful win!!

What a start for Connacht. Just looked back over the last few Pro12 tables, I reckon if ye can beat the Italians home and away and then knotch up another 4 - 6 wins, you'll be guaranteed Heino next season. The highest scoring 6th place team was 60 points (13 wins) and it's usually less than that (11 wins and around 55 points). I reckon the increase in competition for qualification will keep the total nearer the 55 mark.

We've beaten Leinster before. What was most gratifying about this performance was that our pack proved that they can now stand up against the best. Buckley has to be considered by Joe now. On a blow by blow account darragh outdid his international counterpart hands down. More obviously marmion put his hand up for international selection. Have to admit was really concerned we were going to get turned over big time tonight. Its great to be wrong sometimes (lot of times even☺). George was fantastic. Ecstatic. With all the new signings we are only going to get stronger. In my estimation this was the most solid and best win connacht have had in a long long time. I feared to believe on 50 minutes that it was possible as Leinster were going nowhere (thanks to our pack again) but on 80 minutes there it was. The result. Too good a feeling to describe. Very very happy.

Ouncer we love you when you talk like this:D

One of the greatest improvement was : very very few knock-ons except on high ball. I've never ever seen such a proper handling management, in wet and windy condition on top of that

What a night. Sportsground was rocking.

Noticing a few bitter comments from Leinster supporters online, loving it. I suppose it's kinda nice when other provincial supporters say that Connacht is their second team or whatever but when they start disliking you, it means you have their respect. Long may it continue!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 27,541 ✭✭✭✭phog

Great result, three from three and a big scalp in there. Top of the table too, fair play.

The result got a cheer in Thomond last night, just hope you don't continue with these performances when you play us.

Bitter comments on boards.ie? Haven't seen any really.

Thought the Leinster fans were ok about it really. Think that MOC will start to feel the heat. Dare I say it not a great start to Leo's coaching career either with the forwards.

Some fans, not everyone a few have said how terrible leinster played and decisions went against them from the referee but there was no mention that connacht actually deserved the win which they did.

Never met a Leinster fan who acted the mong. That run continued yesterday. All the sentoment after was if they were to lose to anybody let it be Connacht.

Remember when people were furious EOS didn't get a look in ahead of Pat?

It's hard when you're used to winning and playing well to see anything clearly after a game like that. Connacht absolutely deserved the win but we were God awful in that second half. And those performances are becoming more and more the norm for Leinster. It can really get under your skin and I was in foul humour after the game. That's what you end up focusing on. I'm sure most Leinster fans would acknowledge that Connacht deserved the win in the cold light of day. At least if hope they would.

Also while Lacey wasn't great overall, he wasn't that bad and he wasn't the difference at any point in the game. I was actually disappointed that Lam expressed frustration with him afterwards and with the constant booing that went on at every decision that went against Connacht. It became pantomime stuff during the game. He was alright, but whatever errors he made went both ways.

I think people are taking Leinster fans being totally pissed off with the performance as taking credit away from Connacht which is nonsense
