Leftie here. Any time this thread is done, there's always a stupidly high number of lefties.

    Aren't we great.

I know several that dig/kick with the other (left) foot.

    Otherwise known as been protestants.

Right handed. It was always a challenge at teen discos when you met a leftie, me trying to use my right hand, her trying to use her left... awfully awkward.

My old man is a leftie, but writes with his right hand. He used to have the hand leathered off of him, if he was seen writing with his left in school.

    Crazy shit.

I'm ambidextrous also, can write, use a knife with my left hand as well as my right. If I were playing tennis, golf, hurling it would be left handed, but kick a ball with my right foot.

Youngest just started school and is a leftie, he is finding it very difficult to hold the pencil correctly, have bought every kind for him, along with the triangular ones and grips. He will get there though.

    I'm fully left handed.
Write, work and kick ball left handed.
I have issues with inky pens, ten openers, scissors, ring binders, cheque books.

Years ago they tried to force left handed children to use their right hand - often with disastrous results. Were any lefties here forced to use their right hand for writing?

This happened to both of my mum's older sisters (definitely one of them anyway). This was in the late 50s/early 60s too. Had her left hand twisted behind her back and made to write with the right by the nuns. It has made her quite ambidextrous though. The oldest aunt told me now the only thing that annoys her now are scissors with one finger grip bigger than the other.

    Right-handed. I can't write with my left-hand at all!

I'm a rightie. I can write legibly with my left hand if I need to but not as neatly or as quickly as I can with my right.

I'm left handed and the only time I'm really inconvenienced by it is in college where they have these stupid desks.
