Execises to build muscle.

    Hi all

    Okay, so I started a thread that is here. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057202665

    But the problem is, I was really busy and never got a chance to hit the GYM, as I'm a trainee Chef and I work award hours. But Im starting college so Il have any amount of time during the week. But there isn't any gym available on campus. :mad: So im looking for stuff I can do at home with out weights or gym equipment.

    (Slightly recycled one of my previous posts)

    A while back i didn't have much time to get to the gym. I downloaded the bodyweight training e-book "you are your own gym" to get ideas for bodyweight exercises. It's a decent way to get a good reference in the one place. I subsequently downloaded the app for iPhone. With the exception of a chinup bar you don't really need much equipment.

    It breaks exercises up into push, pull and legs.

    the plans consist of 2 weeks high reps low intensity (pyramids), 2 weeks of strength (your typical nsets x nreps), 2 weeks for power (supersets) and then a 4 week undulating block (supersets, tabathas, circuits etc...).

    the app is good because it keeps track of what you're doing and you can substitute exercises with more difficult variations as you get stronger, or build your own programs.

    The sessions are between 20 to 35 minutes and can be done at home.

    I have a set of dummbells and platea t home now, so some of the exercises are now replaced with them. And I hit a gym for squats/ deadlifts/ cleans /snatches / presses / bench presses, which can't be beaten for building strength and muscle.

    Progress probably wont be as fast with body weight exercises, but I enjoyed it, and still use the stuff I learned from the book when I can't get the gym

    Stop making excuses and go do something, anything is better than nothing. If you wanted to train while working as a trainee chef you would have.
