Tell me about it, test after test after test, the homework does not stop either.
Only break I get is Friday and Saturday.

The homework is crazy! I had to go back to after school study just to give myself a bit of focus (I really don't like study because I tend to be very aware of what everyone around me is doing). Thankfully I've been managing to get my homework done in the two hours, giving me another hour or so of study to do when I get home!

I have many free classes through out the week, 6 Irish classes and I get most of my written stuff during those times and then another few from teacher being absent for chem.

    (x+y)cubed-zcubed

    (x+y)^3 - z^3

    (x+y)^3 - (z)^3

    ((x+y) + z)((x+y)^3 + z(x+y) + z^3)

I think That's how you do it, it's sure a tricky question.

Yeah the Z just makes everything harder.
The x and y can easily be put in place following the cube formula but z....

    Thanks anyways

Btw: It should be (x+y-z) for your first part.
Thats all I got so far

It follows a simple formula. If you want I'll explain it. :)

Yeah I know but I just don't get how they get the answer in the book, which is completely different to yours...

You know you're insane when it takes a full A4 page to do one maths question and you manage to get it right. :p

So much homework today, now I know why ye people keep complaining. Luckily I now only to have to write an irish essay on poverty... Wish me luck on that! Also got 24/30 on my first geography exam question essay :D not bad for first attempt.

Anyone thinking of doing ag science ?
I had it all planned but then the teacher who did ag science in after school, said she will no longer be doing it anymore.
So what are my options now ?
Is there anyway I can still do the subject ?

I'm doing it, and am just 2 classes in but I like it :) It's really interesting. The only thing is that you need a teacher to correct your project (which is worth 25%) so a teacher is kind of a necessity.

Yeah, I looked outside and it costs around 1200E but you get the course and project done by the end of 5th year, so all you have to do is revision in 6th year.
    But 1200E.....I just don't know.
It feels like a stupid price for 1 subject just to get above 80 points.

Anybody have any ideas for their History research study? My teacher is already pressuring us to choose a topic and I haven't a clue!

Chose something that is unique, and easy to source primary sources for. I heard that the examiners love local history, so maybe do it something from your county or something.

What interests you about history? What's your favourite section to study? Arnies right about primary sources probably being better, but if you do something you're genuinely interested in, it'll be a lot easier :)

Only switched to history this year myself. Thinking of doing my project about something local.

I love history so much and there's a lot I enjoy that I could write about, my problem is I just can't narrow my interests down to one topic! :P I wanted to write about this guy from Northern Ireland, I live in Dublin though so it's not really that local... But a lot of my friends want to write about American history, so I guess it's more local than that!
I wrote a nice project in TY that I wanted to use but I don't think I can because there weren't any primary sources in it :(

From the SEC's point of view, Ireland is local.
They just don't want any more Kennedy/MLK/Marilyn Monroe/Rosa Parks/Nazi projects, not without a very specific and narrow purpose.

That feeling when you use up an entire A4 page to do an algebra question and miraculously get the right answer! :D

I know there are loads of threads about this but does anyone know a cheap way of doing applied maths on my own. Can't afford the IOE and school unable to do it.
Would buying the book, teaching myself and getting a grind once a month be a reasonable option.
If I study 7 questions and aim at 1 every month I should have the bulk of it done by the end of 5th year and then just revision in 6th year.
Also how are the examples in the book (like would they be good enough to teach yourself)
    Thanks
