Its happened again. I was forced to make a lodgement to my bank account and credit card.

At the Bank they refused to take my money at a counter and force me to make a lodgement through the machine, a machine which 50% of the time swallows my money and causes a lot of stress.

At another bank I was told I would be charged for my lodgement... So let me get this straight. I give you cash which you can add to your balance sheet/ short term loan to someone else etc and you are gonna freakin charge me for it even though you are so desperate for money you get it off the IMF ? But dont worry folks, the charge is smaller if you user the self service lodgement machines. Last time one swallowed my money and I didnt get it credited to my account for 2 days. I didnt get to charge them though.

Everytime I have parked in College Green Bank of Ireland for the last few weeks, as I drive towards it there seems to be a permanent road works which holds up the whole street. Later inspections revealed these road works to be not really so massive. If this was Germany they would be fixing a capital main street overnight and have it done in one or two nights max. And they would probably lay steel plates over the holes so that traffic would resume as normal during the day.

Trivial things : Banks and how customer service is a thing of the past, The Irish way of doing things or just passively accepting what they are told about how things should be done. I doubt Bank of Ireland is complaining much about the road works outside it's entrance on College Green. Why should they when they are part of a cosy cartel-like fixed market anyway ?

I'm feeling your pain. I eventually bit the bullet and changed banks. Bit of a pain, but the moral victory was worth it. :)

The cat woke me at 4.50am for no particular reason. I got up thinking he might need to go outside for a tinkle but nope. It took me ages to get back to sleep. I'm sitting here barely awake :(

    Grumpy much?:P

Of course! Otherwise this thread wouldn't account for half my total Boards posts!:p

The Sunday Times had an article about Ryanair online booking that reminded me of something that grates me everytime I book with them. They add a Travel Insurance charge as default and to uncheck, you have to go through their drop down country list to select "Do Not Insure Me". Why is it discreetly located in a country list and why can they not have a more visible check flag instead? Better still, stop the insurance add on by default!

I wonder is that one of the sh1tty things they fixed in their recent image overhaul.

Welcome to my world, we have 4 cats. None of them even bother trying to wake my husband up. It's easier to give in rather than wait for them to knock everything off the bedside locker.:D

Ahh. Memories of getting changed in the changing room after P.E. in secondary school. The air being suffocated with the contents of twenty cans of various Lynx sprays, which were used in the place of showering. Good times! *chokes*

When you ring the revenue and the automated dude asks for your PPS number. He never gets it, despite me calling it out probably 20 times over a number of phone calls. "Im sorry, I still didnt get that...."

    Argh!

    Punching the air.

I still use lynx Africa, but I'd fire a stapler at anyone that gets urges to dance at their desk.

Do it in the privacy of your own office! :p

Yep, it's ridiculous. As is the fact that you can't change your address online. And when you come in they make you talk to the automated yoke rather than just updating it there and then.

I've decided to Close my Boards account. I've seen long-time posters like myself, usually posters I'd never even interacted with, suddenly close their account seemingly out of the blue and I've always wondered "WTF??" and I just didn't want to do that as it'd make me kinda hypocritical :pac:

My own reason is that I've just realised that I'm turning to social media quite a lot to distract myself from the fact that my life is not going down the route that I want it to go down, and once I get distracted by social media it can last for hours at a time! I left Facebook for the same reason, and it only dawned on me lately that I've replaced Facebook with Boards and Twitter. So I'm gonna close them both and try and pay attention to what I need to be paying attention to right now, instead of finding myself in the same stupid routine over and over and over.

For me, this thread has been the most fun of all the threads! Thanks to everyone for making me laugh so much in it! :D

When an absolute CÚNT of an Iarnród Eireann worker waves on the train to leave when he sees you approaching (3 minutes before it was scheduled to leave), starts to laugh when you try to hurry up to catch it and then aggressively tells you that it's gone in a typically cúnty "are ya deaf lad?" kinda way.

Oh my god, go fúck yourself ya gowl.

Following on from something I posted the other night about my missus discussing her period in a graphic fashion.....it turns out she was worried about being pregnant and was talking to her friend about it.

She neglected to tell me about her concerns.

......which has lead to this on the happy thread -> http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=92014120&postcount=785

The fact that my neighbour has an AED thing attached to the side of her house, like a hosepipe or something, and it lights up at night.

    What the ****. Why?
