"In contention" is so ambiguous :pac:

To me that signals his injury isn't as serious as it was made out to be. Wouldn't be surprised to see him make the sub bench this week.

That's a relief, I'm gonna hold onto him for now and hopefully after the weekend we'll have a clearly picture of what's going on.

Haha, then the question becomes start him and risk a 1 pointer or Naismith. Would probably still start Costa

Anyone know if Dzeko will be fit for the weekend?

Will Naismith start this weekend lads?

I don't see him playing at all though. Both are equally bad options! :D

I can't beleive I don't know this after all the years playing, but if I have already made transfers, and I now play my WC before the deadline does any points hit i took get reversed?

    1) I think your defense is pretty week. Only O'Brien & Taylor are proven FF good players for their price. You have no defenders from any top team that you'd play week in week out which could cause you big headaches when choosing your fielded XI each GW...

    2) Your front 8 is tasty but what's your plan? Benching Rodwell most times? In that case £5.0m might be £0.5m too much that you could spend on your defense or second goalie for example.

    3) I'm not sure planning a 4 pts hit immediately after having played your WC is a good idea. If the extra cash is only for a £0.5m swing, downgrade Rodwell to a £4.5m midfielder so that you don't have to take a 4 pts hit for your planned Aguero move.

    4) I think your second option is even worse since it'll downgrade even more your defense.

    5) Lots of negativeness I know... So let's try and give you my 2 cents for a way to make this kind of team possible. If I were you I'd try save some cash on either Sterling or Adebayor. So that you can improve your defense (I think a Chelsea def is "needed", maybe a City one too when we'll know more who will be guaranteed to play). And make the Rooney->Sturridge shift if you still want it.
Seb Larsson from Sunderland at £5.6m could be a good replacement for Sterling. Couple of years ago he was FF gold for some months.
Dyer or Routledge from Swansea both at £5.5m could also be viable options.
Or instead of Adebayor, you could jump on Naismith bandwagon or get Jelavic.

Cheers for the solid feedback iroced! Appreciated!

With regards to the defense i realise i have no cover from any of the big teams but with the teams i have chosen for cover (West ham, Swansea, Newcastle, Sunderland, West Brom) i have a solid rotation for 3 defenders each week with relatively handy fixtures for the next 10 gameweeks with none needing to face a top 6 team. (There's a handy app for figuring this out! FPL Wizard)

With Rodwell i just stuck him in for the sake of it but you're right he will be on the bench most weeks so a 4.5mil mid will do with the extra .5 going into defense, most likely bumping Dummett up to Colocinni OR i could bump Lloris up to Courtois but neither look good for this weekend hence why i was talking of bringing Krul in for one week only! I also rate Van Aanholt as a solid FF option, he has already got an assist and like to get up the pitch from what i've seen. That only leaves Wisdom as a risk but every team has it's 4mil defender so he will do for now.

Lastly... i agree planning a 4 point hit directly after a WC sounds like madness, but there's method to my madness, or at least i think there is! I'm thinking of it as a hit spread over two weeks, so 2 points this and next. If i go with Jovetic and Krul this week and Lloris and Aguero in the next Gameweek i think both pairs will easily outscore the 2points conceded and by then end of GW4 both pairs will have a combined score of higher than 4 than if i just stick with Lloris and Jovetic this week and switch Jovetic for Aguero next? Does that even make sense? I think it does :pac:

Is Begovic set to go down? If he is, I'll definitely wildcard.

    I have him and Isgrove.

I just don't know. He's only -32% according to FPLStatistics but -64 according to TotalFPL
Isgrove then is -23 on FPLStatistics and but -57 on TotalFPL

Either way, despite some posts to the contrary on here, it seems neither will go down this week.

I'm still considering WC. Cahill is about -30 ish also. Last think I need is to start hemorrhaging 0.1's.

If it's certain Costa won't play on Sat I might pull the trigger on WC. It's late in the week but there was little money to be made on it this week anyway. I don;t really want to use it so early though after the mess I made of my season last year during the international break

I'm thinking on holding it now. Have had a good start so can risk it this weekend that I'll have a poor return.

    It's only GW3 after all.

Im pulling the trigger anyway, Aguero and King in, Costa and Hendo out with my 2FT and Ageuro captained.

Would Aguero and Jelavic be decent transfers in for Costa and Giroud??

I would imagine so. 2 goals so far and with Barkley injured Naismith has really upped his game. Evertons best player over the last 10 games inc last season

Aguero definitely going up tonight it seems. Is it worth a 4 point hit to bring him in for Costa? I'd then make him captain.

I've done the same. Too many players I want going up to wait. Dummett, Wisdom, Lloris and Ade all set to go up.

Feel like taking a few risks this season.

No you won't lose any points if you activate the WC

Would I be mad getting rid of Mata, Rooney & Costa for Di Maria, Aguero & Adebayor?

not sure on Costa fitness, but Aguero H to Stoke is a good option anyway

Rooney to Aguero? Am I stupid to do it considering Rooneys upcoming fixtures and the likelihood that Aguero won't start this weekend?

I think you've answered your own question there!
But on the other hand, United are shocking and Rooney has done nothing in the first two games other than score a tap in. Also Aguero is likely to rise tonight.

Struggling here! More players than I'd thought heading for rises.

Prodston! Can you put me on to Mick there and fast!!

So this is my team so far with 1.1 m in the bank... Haven't got a clue what to do with the team.. Be grateful for any suggestions :)

Lloris, Krul... Thinking of buying Courtois instead of Lloris

    Ivanovic, Kompany, Zabaleta, Hutton, Baines

Fabregas, Oscar, Rodwell, Cattermole, Mata... Thinking of Di Maria while his price is low instead of Mata?

Aguero, Naismith, Vaz Te.. Should I get another big name up front.. Had Costa with Aguero but sold him cost of potential injury...

    Thanks..

Have a nice cup of tea, an extra sugar and give it a good stir :)

Now you were very happy just 2 nights ago, what has really changed? Nothing. Aguero is still an injury concern and facing a tough run of fixtures. The CL will be a priority this year and Munich is sandwiched in between Arsenal and Chelsea. Jovetic is the smart play there.

Ade goes up .1 but these things happen. A blank and people might be shipping him out again. See there Mick is happy with his tea and wants you to have one too and come to your senses.

Wildcarding on a Thursday night before the transfer window and a 2 week international break. Madness I tells ya :)

Costa to Aguero. Finger hovering over confirm transfer!

All the wildcarding is giving me FOMO. However, with the exception of having to play Naismith instead of the planned Costa, I'm happy with my team for this week. I'll worry about price rises from about 11:31AM this Saturday. If it goes badly, so be it. While there are players I want to get rid of, there also could be some interesting developments over the international break. Gonna sit tight and wait it out.
