Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So from what I gather it goes as follows.

Pay deposit by 24th (mine was 24th not 23rd)
Pay Rent for semester 1 by 29th
Pay fees due to grant not being in
    Something about a student levy

This will amount to about 2-3 grand by the 1st September. Bit short notice isn't it?

From what I know the Levy and the contribution fee are to be paid by the 29th of October ?

If you're getting a grant you won't have to pay the student contribution. You'll just need to show evidence to the fees office a letter of confirmation from SUSI

The accommodation office are also good at helping you spread out the payments if you can't afford it in one go.

If you go onto the online payment system and look into the details it should tell you where you are living!:)

Officially they need to be booked in in advance.

Is that something that would be a pain to do every other week or so, or is it a quick okay and sign in kind of deal?

I never actually did it myself. I think you just register it online at some stage. Can't do it that night. Think the link should be on TCAS or the accommodation page. Can't link as I'm on the phone ATM.

    Well everyone's lotto! :-)
Those who got places last minute, after others turned theirs down, in early Sept. When they have to fill rooms quickly.

Obviously I dont know about previous years but I found last year nearly every village apartment I was in or knew people that lived in was mixed! Off the top of my head I can only think of one that wasnt, of course I didnt ask everyone that lived in village last year who they lived with but I think it would have been more uncommon for them to be single sex!

Unless they changed it for last year? In my first four years in village it was all single sex for me and everyone else I know. Last year it wasn't in my place but the one or two others that I did know in Village were single sex apts.

Could be that they've almagamated the apts more and St. Pats' rules have been changed.

I dont know maybe it was just the people I knew but definitely atleast 8 of the Mullin apartments were mixed. And the 3 others I knew in Riordan were also mixed!
Like maybe it was just a once off haha but just something I noticed anyway

Could be that it was changed with all the other changes in accommodation this year so! The traumas of being Maynooth vintage!

Haha the traumas of not understanding these rules and regulations the previous Maynoothians saw before me..
Like "the bridge"? I just know it was awful and slippery but I know nothing else about it or where it is!

You can *try*, though as at this stage I'd say practically every room on-campus has been filled/assigned, you might find it tough to get a swap.

The best thing to do would be contact the residence/accommodation office first thing in the morning as afaik they deal with room allocations.

Yeah I'm kinda assuming that each room has been filled , I've been assigned a room number and place so I was thinking(hoping) that it would be more of a straight swap sort of thing considering very little students will have moved in already?

Have you heard of anybody swapping room before?

Well...my first year there was 13 years ago...it was equally mixed then. I hope they've done them up a bit since then!
