Just sayin' if I had a crack off her she'd be at least bi ;)

I take it you're terrible at the lesbian sex?

    And?

The interesting question is, would she have won if this information was known before the competition? As progressive as Ireland is, sadly I don't think so. We still have a long way to go in terms of being accepting, interesting on a day there's a rally in Dublin to support gay marriage.

Edit - I can't post links but it's the headline on independent . ie

There were rumours during the festival that one of the Roses was gay.

How do you know they didn't know? It's been well known down in kerry since the festival started, I've seen someone mention it on a rose of tralee thread

Lol! Dont flatter yourself. She'd probably kick you in the balls.

Probably but that'd only turn me on more...and she wouldn't be the first lesbian either that'd change her tune after a while with me

I'd actually bet this will be a non issue in Ireland but it'll be a big deal in the US where aspects Irish America seems to be a tad stuck in about 1907 and American media assumptions about Ireland are totally inaccurate. They tend to assume we're ultra conservative.

Everyone decided it did'nt matter enough to mention, so, GO IRELAND

I'll give you a medal when you can prove your theory.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

If it was the first Rose of Tralee, I'd understand why it was newsworthy.

But 2014? People need to grow up.

I was the only one to say she was a lesibon and the worst winner i have seen yet. now i.ve been proven right. I have always said young women with mens haircuts are always gay

    What's a lesibon???

Single mothers can't enter it. Neither can married women!

I don't think she'd have won if they knew.

The married women can enter Calor Housewife of the year :)

Gay Byrne to interview them on their household management and then bake some tasty treats

Why would any woman go near you with a creepy attitude like that?

I don't watch the program so I am claiming ignorance here :), can anyone tell me how many single mothers made it to the TV show .... and if so (which I doubt) was any reference made to the kid?

they can. They changed the rules in 2009? to allow mothers. married mothers are still excluded to the best of my knowledge.

Oh jasus they will let the heathen gays in but not good christian married mothers. I blame Derek Mooney.

In so far as if you "would" turn her in the first place.
Arrogant playa bullsh-t is so unappealing.

She's not even the first gay entrant
Course it's not a subject that's discussed on stage, can you imagine Daithi going "so, I hear you're one of the all licking & no lollipop cailíns"

Definitely. But then when the "lesibons" grow their hair they become no longer gay. Why is she the worst winner you have seen yet?
Do you have a lot of stupid, simpleton views?

Well it was more a case of everyone not knowing. I'd say it was deliberately kept under wraps and if she had been open about it in the competition she wouldn't have won. I'm not saying "Oh Ireland is really backwards bla bla" but the Rose of Tralee IS a remnant of old-skool Ireland.

    Important part of their life.
