I shifted Mata this week for Fabregas. My motive was more to do with Fab's potetial in the next game rather than the disappoint of Mata's previous. I'll more than likely bring Mata back at a later point, hopefully for less than 9.0.

Mata has brilliant fixtures until week 9 and 10 (Chelsea and City). You'd have to think United will be chomping at the bit to put things right and he is a fantastic player who had an off day on Saturday, the most disappointing thing was his dead ball delivery. I fancy Mata to comfortably outscore Cesc this year, nothing I saw last night convinced me otherwise. Super pass for the first goal but he didn't get into those sort of positions enough, poor defending for the second, never looked like scoring himself.

I'm in no rush to get Siggy in either. If he scores again this weekend I'll bite the bullet as I can't allow another Ramsey situation like last year. I have Arnautovic who was poor in a poor team last weekend but I wouldn't swap him for Siggy just yet. Sanchez is a player I have that I'm not too happy with though, I think his price is a little high having seen him on Saturday, he's not a priority to transfer out just yet though, I'll give him two more matches I think. I'll probably use the change to bring Aguero in for Costa who might need a bit of time to adjust to the EPL.

My main sidebet tripled up on Villa with Guzan/Vlaar/Senderos & I laughed until he pinged a cleanie vs Stoke. Now with Newcastle & Hull at home to come I'm not sure if he's not some genius  (wonder will he wildcard during international break before Villa hit the hard run)

Leroy Fer didn't play for Norwich against Blackburn last night. Looks like he is QPR bound for 7 million.

A former Norwich hero for Mr P.

A good signing but he doesn't really have much to offer FPL really assuming he'll be in at 6.0 at least. Makes defenders more appealing though as he'll shore up the midfield more. Might get 3-4 goals in the season.

Question is vague. Can you give some context? Who have you got in your team? Who are looking at as a replacement?

I'm definitely giving him more time, see how he pans out. There aren't any "solid" options under 10.5 so unless you have the option to get one of the big 5, I don't think it's time to panic on Giroud just yer

Any idea why Giroud did not start on Saturday?

Wenger felt he wasn't fully match fit as he missed most of pre-season.

    I have Giroud - Rooney - Costa

As said above, will keep him for the moment - as his fitness increases, the more attractive a proposition he becomes

I'd imagine he'll replace Faurlin for anyone who has him as a cheap mid.

Liverpool have a new SAS in Sterling and Sturridge. Looks like United have similar in Welbeck, Anderson, Nani, Kagawa, Evans, Rooney, Shaw...

Can't take credit for that one :)

Does Blackett keep his place this weekend?

We won't know until Friday team news. Game may be too early for Evans/Rojo.

I'm surprised Blackett got a game ahead of Mickey Keane anyway. Keane was decent at Blackburn last year. Bowyer wanted him back.

Would you play Sterling away at City or Jelavic at home to Hull?

Jelavic at home to his own team likely to score pretty well, is that some kind of training match? :pac:

Funny and fiery answer with a little modding as well.

RVP due to play against Sunderland, Mata may link up with him well, will see what happens but I think it's mad to be dropping Mata after only 1 game.

Any word from anyone associated with Swansea RE: Neil Taylor? Banking on him to be starting every week for my STO/SWA rotation but after his horror show last weekend I'm slightly worried that Monk may throw Tiendalli in ahead of him.

Definitely worth holding on to Mata until the window closes. I think last weeks defeat was the best thing that could have happened to utd. It will force their board to free up funds as it is clear that the problem is with the lack of quality on the pitch not the lack of quality in the manager. If utd strengthen their defence then Mata could have more freedom and opportunity to attack. But if they go into September with their current central defence it will be time to dump man utd players.

Not sure if you're aware that United signed Marcus Rojo today(argentina world cup centre back). Better than what they had but not the world class operator they need. He doesn't seem to have much of a goalscoring record.

Blackett outperformed Keane during the preseason by a fair distance. It was no surprise that Blackett started.

Maybe Bowyer has his eye on Blackett now instead:pac: Seems about his level:P

I don't put much emphasis on pre season to be honest. It's a nice barometer to have but by no means can form in it be trusted.

Judging from the tweets and texts going to BBC from Birmingham fans at the weekend, Blackett wasn't great there last season.

You could more or less say the same about most transfers. All players have only had 1 Gw. Mata out isnt as bad a move as some people are making out. He is up against ramsey, sanchez, hazard, fabregas, sterling, eriksen, silva and nasri all these players have a decent shout for positions in our midfields. We can only play 7 attacking players most will have siggy now so that leaves 6 spots. My argument would be its in no way a must have that this current Utd team should be taking up 2 out of those 6 remaining attacking spots. Currently I have rooney and mata I may end up keeping the two of them but if one has to go at this moment in time its Mata as there are lots of alternatives just as good in his price range.
