Is it sad that I knew that even though I don't have that particular palette? Urban Decay rehab for me, methinks :P

Nah you told me mine is one of the genuine ones.

I don't wear eyeshadow everyday, but before this palette went through them like a knife through butter.

This one has lasted an age

    My partners daughter covets it.

Yeah my neighbour's teenage daughter is mad for mine, did her make up for the debs and she was soooo excited to get a go of it!
Glad to put your mind at rest anyway :)

OP you could ask your mother where she got the Naked Pallette as you're hoping to complete the collection and get 1 and 3? It wouldn't look suspect then?

Stheno that's definitely Naked 1 that you have, I have it :)

She told me Debenhams but I actually brought the palette into Debenhams a few weeks back and the girls at the UD counter told me it's definitely fake.

When I said my Mam bought it at Debenhams and that it could be possible she was given a fake because perhaps someone who bought a fake online had returned it instore for a refund, they said it wasn't possible as the palette wouldn't have scanned as part of their stock.

I'm now thinking my Mam possibly bought it online OR at a pop-up shop (as suggested by the UD girls as fakes are often sold at pop-up shops/markets, especially around Christmas, which is when she bought it).

I know for a fact my Mam would never knowingly buy a fake and would be mortified if she knew mine was fake. She possibly bought it for a good price and didn't want to tell me she bought it from a market/online/pop-up shop.

I know in my heart she'd never buy a fake one knowingly, so I'm not going to mention this to her. The palette is fine but I know next time what I have to look for.

The colours on my palette are not as intense as the genuine article; the UD girls showed me a real one and the difference is staggering.

I still think it may have been bought in Debenhams, maybe whoever returned it put the fake one into the original urban decay box that Debenhams sold theirs in? then it could still be scanned.

    That's what I kept thinking.

My mother is one of these people who will only buy goods from shops because she'd want the recipient of the gift (me or my sister) to have the genuine article.

I've known her all my life, (obviously), I know her personality, I know how she thinks-I still believe her, that she bought it in Debenhams...after all, Debenhams are hardly going to admit it's possible she bought it there, are they?
I'll just be more vigilant next time.

Fussyonion I have a friend who used to work in brown thomas she told me that people bring back fakes in real packaging and staff don't realise till after. I remember afew years ago it happened with a very very expensive designer handbag and they didn't realise till it was too late!

Debenhams would never admit to making a mistake like that!

I have Naked Palette 2 - purchased over a year ago on Aer Lingus flight from New York ! Guess what ... it ticks all the boxes for being faked as described . Now I can fault the quality of the shadows but it defo is fake based on what was described... !! So yep they are out there for sure !!

I have the naked 1, 2 and 3. Both 2 and 3 have only 2 pivots/indentations (naked 1 obvs. has none) on the case under the mirror. All bought by myself in Urban Decay and don't have any other of the characteristics of the fakes so I don't think the 2 instead of 3 as mentioned in the op is definitive. I've also seen youtube videos which say the real naked 2 has only 2 indentations and it's the fake that has 3.
