I really wish they increased the speed on the condell rd to 80

    +1

The 60kph zone is bad enough but the 50kph zone really is ridiculous.

Maybe 60kph where the pedestrian crossings are but 50kph on the rest is just silly.

It's not nit-picking, I'm just reminded of the saying "people in glass houses..." He also seems to be thinking about going for it himself by the way he drifts right as they enter the bend...

    That and I despise tailgaters.

Its not necessarily I was actually posting it before you responded to that one. Its a general plea.

Poster posts vid...comments made to poster...back and forth ensues...RSA emails involved...thread sucked dry of all life.

I despise tailgaters too BTW but I don't see that every video posted has to have some comment back about the person who posted it. It seems someone is always just waiting for it. I have a cam but I just don't bother posting in this thread, I don't want the pointless arguments.

just my two cents I wasn't directing it at yourself.

Was there a higher limit at one point? Pre km days maybe?

There are about 5 or 6 pedants on this thread who seem intent on wrecking it or driving off (excuse the pun) anyone who posts a video.

For gods sake give it up please. Same old posters every single time. Go start another thread if you want to nitpick.

It's the crap videos that are ruining the thread.

I don't think people should be allowed to post their own videos as they can't view them from an objective point of view.

All videos should be posted through a 3rd party to allow an "anonymous" element, whenever someone posts a russian or polish video it doesn't cause the same level of nitpicking.

The OP of the thread is of a russian dash cam so someone posting their own videos could be considered being off topic.

Condell speed limit is dangerously slow.. Feels like a snails pace and ends up making people like that X5 driver do crazy stupid dangerous things. I see someone raging about keeping the limit most times I'm on the road. Even the guards do 80 on it.

They'd be better off making it an 80 with a few speed bumps either side of the crossing.

*not saying the X5 driver was right at all but you'd feel like putting your foot down on that bit of road just because it's so slow. (Please don't attack me)

That'd be awful. Anyone can go onto Youtube and watch all the Russian dashcam videos they want. The whole appeal of this thread is the local aspect to it.

It was definitely higher before, what it was I can't remember.

I'm not saying local videos shouldn't be posted, I'm suggesting people not be allowed to post their own videos.

People should post their videos to youtube and someone else could post them on this thread.

That way it avoids the videos being a "personal" thing and they can then be discussed objectively.

there should be a rule against any -slightly- bad driving videos. Like someone not indicating, not using the correct lanes on a roundabout etc. These things can be seen every time you get in a car, this dash cam saves your ass thread should go back to its roots of dash cams saving your ass where it's actual accidents/ crazy **** happening. Even if it means 1/10th as many videos are posted

The nit picking only really happens when someone is calling someone out on a small driving offence, like not indicating etc. Nobody talks about the driving of the russian dash cam owners because there's infinitely more mad shi/t going on outside the car.

It's killing the fun of this thread!

I like the bus drivers response. Anyhow we all make mistakes.

Also the oncoming lane is a mystery. When it officially turns into two lanes nobody really knows.

Heading up to Model farm road, know it well, not the first time I've seen that either.

Lines need to be repainted around the pedestrian crossing to show two lanes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,381 ✭✭✭mb1725

Should be a single white line there on Model Farm Road, as it is marked overtaking is permitted.

They really do. Depending on the time and drivers when the pedestrian crossing light is red for traffic the two lines may start before or after.

We didn't see which lane the taxi used to enter the roundabout, it was already on the roundabout when OP arrived at it.

The taxi exited on to lane 1 and then into the bus lane, except for the lack of indicators the taxi used the roundabout correctly.

You cannot exit a roundabout like that without crossing lanes, if there is no cars in lane 1 you should always exit into lane 1.

    This is basic stuff!

Not in Ireland you dont, people seem to think that they can use they can go from the right hand lane of a dual lane road into a roundabout on the right hand land and then take the exit to the right hand lane regardless if there's traffic on the left lane or not. I see it every morning, and I mean every morning.

Most of the videos we post for you are roundabout incidents. If you let us know what type of video/discussion you would like us to post for you we will try to capture them for you. But thanks for contributing all the same

not uploaded in a while, but i had to share the misery with this one. A cyclist is wearing very tight shorts, nothing new there you may say, except these were totally see through!!!! and he forgot to wear underwear as well.

some things cannot be unseen. listen to our comments, our reaction was understandable i think.

Thankfully you don't have a rear facing dash cam (no pun intended).

In the first clip - just before cormie stores it - what looks to be a piece of wire hits (or just misses) the windscreen/van.

Did you have a blowout on the first.

    This is all very cryptic

Hehe, nah, the hubcap of RDS wheel on the micra comes off and flies into the other side of the motorway with the hubcap ring hitting my van. Here it is slowed down:

8 seconds: Look at the rear driver side wheel of red micra
16 seconds: Look just to the left of the sign on the opposite side of the Motorway to see hubcap flying
19 seconds: Look just above the black car in front for flying hubcap ring which hits my van.
22 seconds: Look at the far right of the screen where the hubcap hits the road.

I've already had my share of blowout videos :o
