It was biblical prophecy that Israel would be restored.
The nation of Israel in various prophecies would arise again when people thought it was gone for ever, with all it's traditions and language.
One of the prophecies says before Israel could be restored, the Jews would be in foreign lands and would be hunted down.
You might like this bit in the bible "you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors. See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me."
'I will send for many fishermen,” declares the Lord, “and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks'
'They will die of deadly diseases. They will not be mourned or buried but will be like dung lying on the ground. They will perish by sword and famine, and their dead bodies will become food for the birds and the wild animals.”
But after the persecution it goes onto say:
'As surely as the Lord lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land I gave their ancestors.'

It was biblical prophecy that Israel would be restored after a great persecution.

Since when was god an estate agent? I actually cant believe you posted that all your credibility is lost now.

Unbelievable stuff, imagine the mess the world would be in if people went back to the land they lived in 2000 years ago, the greeks would be invading turkey and vice versa and the Commanche would be ruling America. Absolutely propostorous logic.

I listened to a BBC radio program when some of these people from that time were reburied in Glasnevin not long after 9/11.
On the BBC one person called them terrorists: a terrorist is in the eye of the beholder.

Surely the land needs to be returned to its RIGHTFUL owners, the Akkadians who arrived there in 2400BC, yonks before the Jews?

Yes good advice, I will watch that video when I have time. I've been reading a bit on the wiki page. It's something that's always been in and out of the news that I've meant to really get a proper understanding of. I have a semi idea of the situation but have never really read into it.
Is there a good book perhaps that would be worth a read?

Try occupation101 on youtube. Best documentary at both sundance and cannes festivals.

And what happens to the Jews in the end? They mostly all die or convert..love how fanatical Christians in the US support Israel when really they couldn't give a fiddlers féck about the Jews in the end

    And they are pissed.

Short arms. Very itchy sacks. Such is their anger, their wrath will be merciless upon us.
