Really really don't think we will finish outside the top 3. What happens after that I'm less confident about.

ah you should be fine, it would be nightmare scenario for the results i mentioned. Id fancy us this weekend, midfield is improving somewhat and defence more solid than its ever been. would have been 5 clean sheets in a row if had held on last friday. (still left us 2 conceded in 7)

defeat for wexford and they have the same distance to climb as us and we need nothing short of an implosion & boost to our own form

Can LOI players not move to England after July 31st or is it just transfers in?

Can go to England up until their window ends.

Its no coincidence that the success we've had over the past few years has coincided with Joseph Ndo's spell with us. He's left us with some amazing memories. I will miss seeing him in a Rovers jersey. I'll miss his dance moves when we win big games. I'll miss his passion for beautiful football and his inclination to attempt the difficult option almost every time. Its a sad day for us.

As for Djilali, probably as talented a player as I've ever seen play for us. Just doesn't have it in the head.

Reality was always going to bite with us having fallen so far down the league this season. Desperately sad to see Joey go, but nothing lasts forever.

At least it shows the resolve of the MC to keep the books in balance and not allow sentiment to cloud their judgement. I can tell you some fans are (somewhat short-sightedly imo) already spitting bullets over the news of his departure.

Djilali also signed for Limerick. He was great for us in the run in last year when he was trying to earn a contract so might be a good signing for them.

    Greene, Folan to Pats
    Lee Lynch to Limerick
    North to Rovers
    Towell to Sheff United (wtf?)
    Fagan to Norway
    Some spanish lad to Rovers

Todays big rumours, anything else? Any of them actually happen?

Why WDF over Towell to Sheff Utd. Its common knowledge he is going over to England, its just a matter of its now before the end of August or in January

Sheff United are not very good but have a few quid from selling Maguire. Assumed he would be champo level.

I had my doubts until seeing him against Hajduk Split. He adjusted to the quicker pace of the game seamlessly where other players struggled. Was brilliant over both legs and probably should have scored. I really think he could make the step up

Sheff Utd are league 1 debatable if they are step up.

Sk brann offered 100k for Fagan according to the sun.

Towell is far too good for League 1.

Quality, quality player. Has finally discovered a goalscoring touch this season, so not surprised there’s significant interest from abroad. He’ll be badly missed if he goes.

The standard of League One is quite similar to the top end of LOI. Ive been to a lot of games at that level. It is a far more physically strong league. Towell would hold his own at least, but to say he is far too good is underplaying the strength of that division.

Top LOI clubs would be mid to low table in League One at a push.

I would agree that it’s a similar standard, which is why I’m saying it wouldn’t really represent a progression. He’s clearly got the potential to play at a higher level than the LOI, which means he’s obviously capable of playing at a higher level than League 1.

I think the likes of Dundalk and Pats would comfortably hold their own in League 1. Not saying they’d be pushing for promotion, but they’d be competitive at least.

Its progression in so far as he gets to play in front of a bigger crowd in better stadiums. Probably trains in better facilities in a more professional setting. Pkus a far bigger shop window.

Not a dig at Dundalk in the slightest in what i say facility wise.

    Fair points.

Don't know about that - the LOI has become a favoured bargain-hunting ground for British clubs in recent years. Not only that, but playing in Ireland provides the opportunity of playing in Europe, which represents a much bigger shop window.

Personally I think he's a bit too good for Sheff UTD, just my opinion though

They're only 3 points away from the relegation play off.
