Really difficult task now for anyone outside the current top 3 to break through. Can only see Shels as a team who may falter

A bit of google-fu will easily show that there is a troublesome element at every Irish club, figuratively speaking.

Ah I couldn't agree with that from personal experience. Bohs, Rovers, Dundalk but outside of those I couldn't really tarnish any other clubs. I wouldn't count 13 and 14 year olds acting the b*llox as a trouble element really.

Ross Gaynor released by Sligo. Bit of a strange one.

Reported to be on the way to Cork City according to a Sligo fan on another forum.

Sligo manager said they were letting Gaynor go because Sligo have 'decided to go down a different route and with a different style of play'.

Sounds a bit odd to release a statement explaining why a player is leaving and putting it down to a change in style of play. Could he not teach Gaynor this new style?

Gaynor has been awful this season. By far our biggest weakness.

    We'll be top 3, you won't.

Cawley has an opinion like the wind.

How did he get that job?
RTE have a horn for ex LOI players that aren't Jackeens.

if wexford beat us at the weekend and you lose to Galway a 4pt lead is not much, especially compared to what it was. Id fancy us for at least a draw but furlong has tended to be a right royal pain

we have signed ex ucd keeper mark mcginley. A month ago id have been happy but Winn has come back really well from being dropped, looking much more assured and patton has also proved himself more than able this year too. Its midfield we need players but attracting them is a different story unfortunately...

Now to be really honest I don't seriously think we'll get top 3 this year, but our squad (Wexford) has really improved with the recent flurry of transfers and Danny's return to form. Andy Mulligan already looks like one of our best ever players to me to be honest.

Really really don't think we will finish outside the top 3. What happens after that I'm less confident about.

Don't care why Gaynor is gone, just glad he is. Never seen a player who cared so little.

Gaynor confirmed for Cork. Assume Dav is on his way back to us.

    Good business if he's fit.

Rumours of Joey leaving us. Don't expect they're true. Can't see him playing next year though.

Confirmed? Ugh. Really do not need another attacking player.

Talk is Davoren is headed back West alright. He has not settled. Shame as we need players at the back, not up top.

Gaynor has been playing left back the last couple of years.

Always liked Dav. Could see Baracloughs reasoning for not signing him but it hasn't worked out. Gaynor doesn't care and Ledwith just isn't good enough.

Take it you haven't seen him play there then!

Well given I thought he was still an attacking player that's a safe assumption :)

    Where did Danny Murphy go?

To work. Felt it was best to go working full time here in Cork, where he lives and has a kid rather than be paid a low enough wage at City for 40 weeks in the year.

I vaguely remember that alright. Pity, he's a far better left back than what ye've just signed. Probably than the one you've released too.

Absolutely, I was disgusted when he left but when its for personal reasons theres not much that can be done.

The only thing about all the comings and goings of the squad, and I say this as a paying member of the club, is that Caulfield was/is given a budget, and he can do what he wants as long as it remains inside that. This years budget is down from last years.

If Joey leaves I'm going to be gutted. Mid-season because of injuries isn't the way it should end.

    Do you think he will?

The 1-1 game down here in Turners Cross earlier in the season, he was fantastic, controlled the whole game.
