Lufthansa turning around from Atlantic crossing near SNN, not squawking emergency at the moment.

P.S. What was a Lufthansa doing coming from Southend

I was down at Ringsend/Poolbeg ESB chimneys yesterday evening and a loose formation of what looked like single seater planes of various colours came in off the sea or up the coast, about 8 or 9 planes in all I think.. more or less seemed to be heading towards the Dublin Airport. I dont think they were all exactly the same type. It was around 7 pm ish I think, maybe a bit later
Anyone on here know what they were or what was the story?

Not sure if anyone noticed but a Lufthansa A321 seems to be doing a flight test programme after maintenence in Southend over the West Coast and Midlands.

Luftansa wants to make an approach to SNN in about 30 mins, unsure if that will include landing.

Shannon tower / Shannon approach / Shannon low level (aircraft below 30,000ft): http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=einn2&icao=einn

    Shannon high level: http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=einn_high&icao=einn

I think it was the first I was listening to the Lufthansa on. Here it is on a map http://www.flightradar24.com/DLH9921/3edf67b

Any questions no matter how small give us a shot

The most interesting for me generally is Dublin where you have a choice of Tower/Approach/Ground, Tower or Tower/Approach. But the other airports especially Cork and Shannon are quite interesting too. As is Shanwick (what I just linked to) on occasion. All personal choice though I suppose.

    Haha :p

Is there a reason why the 757 just over the center of Ireland has no callsign?

Probably just some fr24 error, though I'm no expert

I'd prefer Shannon myself as a lot of planes do fly over my house,so it's interesting to hear what's happening with those planes and also to see where they are going :pac:

Ah that should be easy then - two feeds, one of them for Shannon airport tower/approach and all aircraft over Ireland below 30,000ft and the other a much wider landscape of all of Ireland and beyond, for the Atlantic flights. Hope I'm not being too patronising here.

I understand what you mean about Shannon approach/tower but is there are LiveATC feed for aircraft below 30,000ft(I doubt this) or are you talking about FR24(I assume you are) ...The same with the wider landscape/Atlantic flights

The feed for below 30,000 is only included in the Shannon approach/tower feed OR as part of the Knock feed here http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=eikn2&icao=eikn

    Atlantic flights here http://www.liveatc.net/flisten.php?mount=einn_high&icao=einn

It's only at 11000 feet though. Is that a bit low to be performing stall tests?

Nope, they won't be actually stalling the aircraft - All there going to do is let the speed drop and then on the Airbus ''ALPHA FLOOR'' kicks in and recovers the aircraft.
