The Palestinians have to fire because Israel has them blockaded into a small area. Israel decides if the electricity works, Israel decides if the water runs from the taps, Israel decides if a sick Palestinian child lives or dies for want of hospital treatment. Gaza is the worlds biggest open air prison that Israel bombs with impunity.

Using 'Arabs' is a hell of a generalisation. I'm sure everyone agrees the (let's call them) 'bad guys' are using civilians as human shields. We all know that. The problem is that people like you, and the other supporters of Israel's actions, seem to think that that justifies the civilian deaths. Because with as many bad things as a person could say about the Americans, if they were in Israel's position, I fully believe they would do everything possible to avoid civilian casualties. The Israelis show no such restraint. Never have. Because to them, the innocent civilians in Palestine are no longer human. They're shields. And the Israelis thus see them as superficially regrettable statistics and not people, humans, with families and friends and futures that have been stolen from them.

You think it's reprehensible to use "babies as shields for protection", you're right, of course you are. But it's also reprehensible to kill them and then pat yourself on the back for holding back so much. And it's reprehensible to claim you had no choice but to bomb a hospital, when you could have used your vaunted technological superiority to take out the 'bad guys' in a way that didn't involve killing almost a thousand people. And it's reprehensible to suggest that murder on one side is disgraceful, but that vastly disproportionate murder on the other side is a perfectly acceptable response.

But judging by the rest of this thread, we're all wasting our breath.

I was wondering why RTE was giving such an easy time to all the Israeli propagandists that they interview compared to other "news" stations around the world.

It looks like they've already taken sides by pushing their own propaganda on behalf of Israel. Fortunately they were called on it this time.

The material contained pictures of a woman with a lengthy sequence of her shouting in the street. The woman begins by referring to children dying, but she then goes on to say that she is ready to wear an explosive jacket and join the fight.

The voiceover on the report was not intended to be a direct translation. The reporter was paraphrasing the woman's view.

Another ridiculous post. RTE are not peddling propaganda on behalf of Israel. They can be very amateur sometimes, but to accuse them of deliberate pro Israeli bias is stupid and childish.
Our media is generally very liberal and left leaning. Try reading the Opinion pieces in the US press and you will soon realise what proIsraeli bias looks like.

It's an interesting perspective. I'd say you'd have to approach it with an open mind and regard it as one view amongst many en route to forming an opinion. The "open mind" bit might be trickier for some than others. The fact it is from a speech by a Jewish Gentleman makes it a bit awkward going along with your "Mel Gibson" schtick.
