Did the goalkeeper let that in on purpose? :pac:

I've seen a few keepers do that over the years, going for a shot / header and then seeming to give up on it and then end up on their knees. I've never known if they think (wrongly) that it's going wide, or realise they're not going to make it (without looking like they're really trying).

It reminded me a little of Dida's 'attempt' of a save for Gerrard's goal in Istanbul. Not saying it wasn't a good header, but I always felt like it looked like Dida gave up on it...

Just skimming over the thread from last night, is Emre Can's surname really pronounced 'Chan'?

Yeah. And his middle name is, 'Jackie'.

Yep. His name is spelled Çan, the letter Ç is a different letter in the Turkish alphabet.

Speaking on his return to Turin following a post-World Cup holiday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Vidal as saying: "Can I say that I stay at Juve? I do not know. I will talk with [new Juve coach Massimiliano] Allegri then we'll see. I'm happy here.
"I have not yet spoken with Allegri and even with my friends, I do not go to Manchester."

Vidal to Liverpool is pretty certain now.

I highly doubt we will sign Vidal.

But I would love to see just to see all the back tracking in Manchester about not wanting him in the first place etc.

    The Count vs Roma

Can't wait to see him next season. He looks fresh and I can really seeing him stepping up to the plate and becoming the "Star" of this team :)
That pivot and turn @ 2:50 was class
    [/YOUTUBE]

    Looking very sharp already.

Here's hoping Brendan has him doing some shooting practice - his shot selection and technique can let him down at times. If he can add a few more goals to his game and impose a bigger threat around the box he looks ready to step up another level on CL stage.

Read that Atletico were going to gazump us on Origi.

I'd be happy enough to be honest. Don't think he'd add much beyond what we have.

I actually think he'll still go there

He's a player for the future so no I wouldn't be happy.
If Atletico are interested in any striker we should know by now by him fast or we will have to pay 30/40m in a few years.

With there record he will be worth £50/60m in a few years.

The Origi Atletico thing came from the daily mail so we can ignore that. Ben Smith, Bascombe and Pearce said he is in Boston having a medical.

Remy deal been held up by very complicated paperwork.

Origi is 19, well worth a punt for 10 million, nobody can deny that

I don't think Utd were ever in for Sanchez though.

    Ninja edit: What backtracking?

I'm not sure what you're point is with those  or post to be honest!

I didn't see one Liverpool fan backtrack on not wanting Sanchez at Liverpool.

We understood the reason he didn't join us wasn't down to footballing reasons it was down to wanting to live in London.

There is a difference but you choose not to see it!:rolleyes:

Edit; Washington Irving just backtracked shame on us all!

I'd be fairly certain it's a combination of both football reasons and location. Unless you have direct quotes from Sanchez to back up your theory which you present as "fact"

I don't have time to search the whole thread but i did read posts from people backtracking on Sanchez, here is one i found:

I can't remember a single person on here saying "well I didn't want Sanchez anyway" after he signed for Arsenal. Everyone would have gladly taken him. To suggest otherwise is just making nonsense up. There may be one but that is not a lot given how large the Liverpool fan base on here is.

So you don't have time to search the whole thread yet you search the thread.

Now this is where you can use .

If maybe you can find now where that poster said he would love Alexis Sanchez at Liverpool. Then you can use that post as a way to say he backtracked!

I tend not to get involved in these conversations, but that's not backtracking. He said he's not the mad about Sanchez and wasn't too upset about him going to Arsenal. It would be backtracking if previous to that he said he'd loved Sanchez to sign for Liverpool. A quick glance through his posts show he never said that.

And Brendan Rodgers was quoted as saying that the Sanchez didn't want to live in Liverpool, he wanted London. It might not be a quote from Sanchez, but it's a quote from someone a lot more involved in these things than we are! :)

    J.

Edit: Beaten to it by Agent Coulson!

Plenty of beauties here like "never liked sanchez" "prefer lallana anyway"

Anyway it's a moot point anyway. I don't think Van Gaal wants Vidal anyway. I'd be fairly confident that he wants to bring in strootman instead and vidal is just a smokescreen.

Fair enough, only did a quick search so missing some context. Actually, the main backtracking i saw was on RAWK. That place was a hilarious parody of itself when Sanchez signed for Arsenal. At least the pool fans here are more down to earth
