    Yep. Your point?

If Israel is afraid of public opinion - why on earth would they attack hospitals or schools unless they have a justifiable reason?

no they arent afraid of public opinion. they are bombing indiscriminately and at will.

If they are not afraid of public opinion - why on earth would they bother with leaflets and phone calls and warnings?

because their only ally in the world is starting to turn on them. there are even numbers of their own people starting to turn on them. while the killing continues, they need to come across as a nice little quiet country, giving warnings to the people of palestine before they 'defend' themselves by blowing muslim children to smithereens.

Israel is a country who's elite classes have been infiltrated by some of the most disgusting excuses for human beings ever witnessed on this earth and any jewish person that supports them needs to take a long hard look at themselves and at their own people's history and start recognising a pattern.

True. I guess Hamas should have thought about that before they started firing rockets at Israel.
and i guess israel should have thought about people firing rockets before deciding they didn't have enough land and decided to start stealing more land and wiping out the natives

if a military from another country was slaughtering my friends family and fellow citizens on a daily basis i would eventually get to the stage where i would fight back

So you would have no problem (given the right circumstances) to go out and slaughter children in their beds with knives, blow yourself up in a school bus, etc?

I'm not sure how I'd react if I were a Palestinian living in Gaza - I'd probably fight also, or leave Gaza.
I'm 100% sure that I would not go and target children on purpose and I'm 100% certain that I would not go and blow myself up in a bus or a restaurant.
I'm 1000% sure that I would have exhausted all peaceful options before resorting to violence.
I'm also 100% sure that if my leaders would have instructed me to stay at a location about to be shelled with my family, I'd piss on everything they said.

An oppressed people. If you want to be treated like a normal state, get out of Arab East Jerusalem, the Golan and the West Bank, and drop the blockade on Gaza.

That's a very simplistic approach. Would more dead Israelis make you feel better about the whole thing?
The equation is incredibly simple: no rockets = no IDF attacks.

Why doesn't Hamas just try this approach once? Just once? Have a week without firing rockets.
what part of israel broke the seasefire do you not understand?

Israel didn't break the cease fire. The Palestinians did.
thats just not true is it, israel started up the current round of aggression

actually i purposefully didnt, i just chose to leave out that Israel's actions themselves are a contradiction as it is common knowledge.

i hope that resolves my post for you.

I think you are confusing the Israelis with the American cowboys.
I've already asked for examples of those obnoxious Israeli land thefts from recent years, and so far no one has risen to the challenge.
All I'm shown is evidence of natural expansion of settlements due to natural birth and threats by the Israeli government that never seem to be fulfilled.

Come on - where are all these new settlements? Do you know their names?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,717 ✭✭✭✭end of the road

Israel did that and left Gaza, and all it got in return was many many more rockets and attacks. You don't consider that an effort?

What have the Palestinians EVER DO for peace?
left gaza and started a blockade straight away, yeah, thats israel making an effort all right

the part who isnt true :
    edition.cnn.com/2014/07/17/world/meast/mideast-crisis/index.html

"Hamas leaders had rejected an earlier Egyptian cease-fire proposal, saying they had not been consulted on the deal and complaining that it did not address their broader demands."

and when its say "rejected" its mean sent soldiers to kill civilians in one of the villages near gaza + keep firing rockets on israel.

I truly wish you were the Palestinian partner Israel deals with in peace negotiations.
Unfortunately as far as I know, Hamas still also want Tel-Aviv, Haifa, West Jerusalem, Jaffa, etc.I haven't seen any correction to their charter, and haven't seen any Hamas leader stating otherwise (ie - that they are done with wanting to kick all the jews in Israel into the ocean).

Settlements have been expanding for years, with incentives offered to move to colonys in the West Bank.

More clueless guff. Tell me, why is it Hamas fault that Israel is expanding its colonys in Arab East Jerusalem and the West Bank?

At least they did something. Hamas is not even requested to DO anything - they are requested to NOT DO anything, but even that non-effort is beyond them.

And you didn't answer my question - what have the Palestinians ever done to achieve peace?

They're the ones being built on. You selectively target Hamas and ignore Israels aggression elsewhere.

Being obtuse are we? Any house built in the occupied territories is a "land grab" because that land its built on is not within the recognised Israeli state.

You basically didn't say anything, so no it didn't.

israel is losing the support of the USA. israel is still killing civilians by the truckload. israel really cant be seen to be just killing civilians for the craic or whatever support they have in the US will continue to grow smaller. israel drops a few flyers here and there while they continue sending rockets thru the walls of hospitals. israel happy, USA happy, the money machine keeps spinning.

Despicable behaviour and whatever chance israel had of defeating hamas is gone now. every child that lost a parent from israeli weapons will take up arms against it.

Expansion of existing settlements is natural, unless you expect people there to stop having babies.
Please, please let's not go into an argument about the legality of settlements - I read enough of your posts to know that you know the whole issue of the settlements legality and land ownership is far from being clear and straightforward (from a purely legal perspective. I personally think that most of the settlements are bad for Israel).

But you know what - just for argument's sake - let's assume that Israel is stealing Palestinian land.

Land theft is justification to fire rockets on civilians and blow up in buses and restaurants?

So again - theoretical (or real - doesn't matter) land grabs justify murder?

    Pl?

I expect them to fuck off back to their own side of the border. "Natural" my arse.

The issue of land ownership is water tight and straightforward, and Israel is illegally occupying those areas.

Any people have a right to defend themselves against colonisation.

The international community. Are you really this clueless or are you just being obtuse in hope of getting a reaction?
