Lump on Madrid to do a double/treble next season. Kroos and James are ridiculous signings for a team already blistering hot.

Went with Madrid, Munich, Chelsea, PSG and Roma all to win their leagues - pays 25/1 - think Madrid, Munich and PSG are certainties.

How does one become a football agent? Wouldn't mind taking a percentage of some of the transfer deals from this summer.

average age of our squad currently now at 25.7 years, is probably been a while since we had a squad that young and that only includes 23 players - if you add in the likes of Keane, jesse, amos, johnstone, wilson, lawrence, henriquez and powell it drops to 24.3 years.

Carrick is now the oldest player, with RVP next. the average age of the end of season squad was 27.

wonder how does that compare to previous years and other teams?

the squad from 2011/2012 was fairly young on average too due to the large influx of players and Scholes (abeit he came back), VDS,oshea,Brown and hargreaves all going

That seems like a terrible bet. Bayern and PSG seem like safe options, but Madrid didn't win it last year, nor did Chelsea and Roma is touch and go for sure.

I'd want a lot more than 25/1 to touch this one.

I'd put Roma as the only question mark. Surely Real and Chelsea are favourites also?

Bayern, PSG pays about 1/3. Add in Madrid and it's 6/4. (wouldn't want to wait nine months for that small a potential return).
The bookie might as well pay out on the first two before Christmas.
So really it's 25/1 on Madrid, Chelsea & Roma which isn't so bad. Really depends on what happens with Juve in the transfer window.

Madrid and Barca need defenders, well Barca did need a striker

    FTFY :p

Seriously though, he was a player that I really wanted it to work out for at united, he could have been a serious player for us. I'm not sure if he's done enough to warrant one more year over the likes of Cleverley though. You'd have to imagine at least one of them is on the move.

    FTFY?

That could open the door for Di MAria, although read somewhere during the WC that he had indicated he wants to join PSG.

right, so on the one hand the bookies don't often get it wrong on transfers but on the other they're regularly manipulated?

How Benitez and Ribery were used in a betting scamLast Wednesday the odds on Rafa Benitez to become the first Premier League manager to lose his job went from 18/1 to 6/4 in a matter of just three hours.
The sudden change of price was down to two factors:
    • Large amounts of money were being placed on the Spaniard to leave his position as manager of Liverpool.
    • Plus there were rumours circulating around the city that Benitez had stormed out of Liverpool's training complex due to another row with the owners.
It has emerged this week that the whole episode might be huge betting scam organised by a sophisticated syndicate. This is what is believed to have happened…
They started by placing large amounts of money on Benitez to be the first Premier League manager to lose his job – large bets on long shots (18/1) like this always alert the bookies straight away.
Then an anonymous tip off was made to a Mersey-side radio station regarding the supposed bust up between Rafa and the owners.
With news of this sensational story the 'ordinary punter' decided to lump on Rafa to leave his position. Which caused the huge reduction in price from 18/1 to 6/4 – one bookie even closed the book on the market.
With the price on him leaving reduced significantly the syndicate then put an even larger amount of money on him 'Staying' at Liverpool on the betting exchanges.
So if another Premier League manager leaves his position the syndicate will collect a mammoth pay out.
Ribery used as a trial run
It is also believed that the same syndicate may have done a trial run first with the transfer of French International midfielder Franck Ribery - again Liverpool were the club used.
One minute Ribery was a 66/1 shot to leave Bayern Munich for Liverpool but a few hours later that was down to just 3/1.
The same tactics were used… large amounts of money on Ribery to go to Liverpool were placed. When the bookies noticed the weight of money on the market they reduced the price.
Other punters heard the rumours and start wading in pushing the price down even further.
The syndicate then put even more money on him Staying with Bayern.
They then wait until the transfer windows shuts on the 31st August to collect their winnings.
The major firms and exchanges are aware of the potential for people to manipulate these types of markets – this kind of betting is not illegal. But with betting becoming more high profile the authorities are likely to step up their efforts to stop this happening again.

We shouldn't buy their unwanted players. We're one of the few clubs that can pay very large fees and Madrid is the last club we should be giving that type of money, to fund this ridiculous spending spree they've been on for the last 12 years or more.
They've basically gone bankrupt before and I can't wait until it happens again.

Nice quotes from Zaha here, really think he deserves a shot this year, mightnt be good enough but think he was treated unfairly last season

Can't see Zaha going considering how LVG loves to work with younger players and try to improve them. Really hoping he can push on this season and get himself up to standard.

Tbh he has poured massive pressure on himself to deliver after that MUFC interview.. I do fully expect him to deliver something nice and rather surprising over the next few weeks :)

The timing of the interview going out on Sunday, followed by him leaving the American tour on Monday, along with the criticisms of him leavin Australia last summer and delivering nothing, can't have been lost on him; I know he is well aware of what has been said on fan forms and twitter/facebook etc.

I'm not saying he is going to deliver big in the next week or so, but the timing and actions of the last 2 days has set him up for another big fall if he doesn't deliver.

A repeat of last year and he will be pushed out I think ... The fan backlash would be enough to ensure that but I am almost certain that things will work this summer.

At what point has it appeared the Glazers care what the fans think?

Woodward has delivered for the with Chevrolet and adidas - his job is utterly safe.
