I like Davy .. very much in the mould of Cullen, all action and busy. Had a decent league campaign but much like Cullen is consigned to the darker recesses of the squad, but time's on his side

id say next year will be his chance with cullen most likely leaving Nice to See Bastic Being Brought on too, Wonder is this Whole taking off if too much messing or risk of sending off a new rule of jims did it last time with mdmc and today with Connolly

Love to see the confidence in O Gara under the high ball shown by the other lads.

    Great weapon to have

quite a reversal too normally we play sloppy the first 10 mins and hit hard the last 10 this time we gave it our all up till the last 10 then slowed down wonder if they kept going at that pace would meath have got the goal

Dublin were in wind down mode the dublin ladies would have put it up to the seniors more today.

I could not agree more. Dublin are a joy to watch play when really on song and that happens quite a lot these days. Long may it continue.

Great performance yesterday from the 1st whistle. Brilliant to see the intensity from the stat as we have been really slow starters.
B.Brogan was everywhere yesterday but in a great show. Flynn/Micky Fitz/Cian all superb again.
Would love to see that type of performance for the rest of the summer now and im sure Gavin will have them well clued in.
Looks like we will have to beat Monaghan/Kildare -Donegal and possibly Kerry/Mayo to win Sam again. Personally I hope its Monaghan next up as they will over something different and will be a harder challenge than Kildare.
    Roll on Aug 9th

Monaghan will put us in good stead for the probable puke football tactics of Donegal in the semi.

Would love to see Kerry in the final.

Well done yesterday, was hoping it was all nightmare but woke up and the result was the same.
Most complete football team I've ever seen.

Actually, its not beyond the realms of possibility that Kildare could turn over Monaghan. It'll be a tighter game than i first thought.

Still though, for the sake of preperation i'd rather play a nordie team.

Great to see Mick Fitz playing so well. He's been unlucky with injuries and had a rough time in the league, he kept Bray quiet.

Happy enough with that, it's unfortunate Meath were so poor. Giving them a hammering is nice and all but i'd prefer to see a closer match.

Good performances all over the field. Good to see Fitzsimons have a good game. Flynner a class act again both during and after the game. Top lad.

Connolly being the one black mark. He needs to get himself together, after such an outstanding league and club season, he hasn't really kicked on.

Hopefully being hauled off yesterday will be the kick in the hole he needs.

Really think Costello has earned himself a start next day out.

Another video of Paul Flynn being an absolute legend has surfaced this morning, what a guy.

Image of this bite that's meant to have happened yesterday:

    BtBeW3hIIAAWhBl.jpg-large-530x680.jpg

Would be totally on O'Gara's side in this one, Burke the clear villain if that still frame is meant to prove anything.

Owen Mulligan on The Sunday Game - "If someone puts a finger in your mouth, what are you suppose to do? Blow it out?"

Seems like that's what happened in this case. My opinion on it would be if someone's finger ends up in your mouth you're entitled to let it know it isn't welcome.

How dare O'Gara bite a finger that's trying to rip his mouth apart! That's poor from the Mirror, if you're going to (wrongly) try side with Burke then at least give a different image. They've made themselves look like clowns there.

These pictures from the Indo are even more damning. Looks more like a fish hook. Brogans reaction says it all.

The images of Burke being a thug are in the match thread.

The Sunday Game lads are all of the opinion O'Gara did little wrong, apart from the original foul.

    Edit - posted ^^^^

If o gara really wanted to chomp on burke picture 3 of brogan pulling burke off him would have being the perfect moment to chomp on his leg!
But after watching the sunday game other then o gara starting the handbags there was zero reaction from a lot of slaps being thrown.

Terrible front page on the mirror, not that im shocked.

Burke probably didn't mean to the stick his finger into O Gara's mouth and O Gara probably didn't mean to bite him. But both things appear to have happened.

This occurred in a split second during what is usually called "handbags". I'm sure it wasn't premeditated on either players part.

My take on how this will pan out is:

Both players will be suspended (for 8 or 12 weeks).

Dublin and Meath County boards will appeal and both players will get off.

You'd think the Meath manager would shut up and take his beating. The footage is more damning of his player than o gara. Mulligan put it well. What else was O gara to do. Hope this goes no further for everyone's sake. Having said that, it was an unsavoury incident and the less we see of these the better.

Paul Flynn is criminally under-rated as a player, and as a man. Top bloke who's a credit to his family, club and the entire county.

    Absolute gent.

Hardly under-rated. He has 3 All-Star awards and almost certainly will get a fourth. One of Dublins most important players and the best wing forward in the game at the moment.

I would agree with this . Shake hands and let it be done . At the end of the of the day if they go after o Gara for a ban I'm sure the Dublin county board could go after a few Meath players for throwing punches . The composure o Gara showed to walk away was great to see .

Granted, but you rarely hear him mentioned. Just my perception of it, doesn't mean it's right. :pac:

I’m not from Dublin, but couldn’t agree more with this statement. The man has quietly gone about his business for years and has developed into some kind of “larger than life” role model.

I think it is difficult for wing forwards to establish themselves as key players on a team, as generally they are not that profilic in terms of scores and a lot of their work is tracking back after wing backs. It is over time that they develop a name for themselves e.g. Paul Galvin, Brian Dooher.

Well you can definitely put Paul Flynn on the list of greats. Stylish player who often scores 3/4 points from play. As I say, not easy to do from wing forward. And carries no baggage in matches. Very seldom is in bother with refs, and doesn’t go looking for the limelight off the pitch. He seems determined to use the limited celebrity status that a GAA player has to enhance the lives of those less fortunate people. One of his mates committed suicide and another died from cancer.

And it really does seem so genuine – not looking for public brownie points.

Will leave it at that. You’d never guess that I was a big fan!!! Though from what I’ve written, it sounds like I could be some kind of Paul Flynn stalker.

Don't know about that. He is not a really prolific scorer in the mould of the Brogans, Connolly, McMenamin etc, but anyone that knows their football knows how valuable a player he is.
If himself or Michael Dara got injured, it would have quite a bearing on Dublins All-Ireland chances (I still think they would win it) moreso than any of the other players on the team.

Really wouldnt be a bit surprised if he won POTY this year or at least was in serious contention.
