I do that road twice a day. It's comprehensively covered with cameras and traffic cars. I've got 4 points on it to prove it. Cruise all the way on it now, too many places to catch someone. Even overtaking is risky.

I'm not surprised by that speed, there was something similar on a previous bank holiday. A lot of ferry traffic on it and it's of good quality.

Somethings out of kilter, or it was before and now isn't. Think you need to bring it to someone decent for an alignment check. The lad in Devoys would be worth a call to see what he thinks.

yeah the alignment is definitely out, waiting to get shocks from Japan then do the alignment. I had the rear control arm replaced and my anti roll bar is on correctly now, I will mention the front tyres to whoever is doing the alignment, cheers.

BTW, congrats to YB for getting an S14, is it going to be used as a real car(ie tax, NCT) or are you keeping it for the drift days?

Only thing driving it with the alignment out is going to ruin the tyres. Hope the shocks come soon.

Is that second reading the distance the vehicle was from the gun? Almost half a km?

    Fook!

Purely drift chris :) I'll get a pic up when I get a chance but I reckon you've seen it already :)

At that speed they had less than 10s visual on him.

That distance on a motorway gives them a time to pull over I guess (I assume that they have to pull you over and show the reading - am I right?)

I'm not sure whether they follow the same procedure as the go safe vans (send out the penalty in the post) or stop the car and deal with them there and then, I've a feeling it's the latter, could be wrong though. In this case anyway, they obviously stopped the driver and arrested them!

Even still, when you put it that they can get an accurate reading at 500m away... it's impressive but puts the shíts up you at the same time.

AFAIK - Tripod mounted systems that can take a photo of the numberplate, they don't need to chase down the car - they can operate like vans and send out FPN's.

In most cases where the gun (see above) is used, they will chase down the driver, take details/etc and send out FPN's later.

However, in the RTA there's a section specifically covering dangerous driving, which gives the gardaí the power to arrest without requiring a warrant any driver suspected of committing the offence of dangerous driving.

Yep, completely agree. By the time you spot them, the damage (to the wallet) is done.

    Lads,

I need to replace the mesh stuff that covers my front and rear speakers if that makes sense.

The front is black, and the rear is grey.

Any ideas on where best to source this?

The speaker cover? Is it damaged? You could spray them??
