    Hopefully Brandao wins!

Jesus, lads, that's the point I was making about hummels. Not particularly fast, but anyone would look slow against messi.
Would love us to sign him. Unlikely to happen though.

Although I think with the club in a good financial position, and with a new manager, this is the time to invest big in world class players.

Should have specified I was agreeing with you and disagreeing with the poster you quoted.

Thos Scholes comments are a non-event. Tepid, and uncontroversial.

And for that we should be eternally grateful. As the senior player at the club, it was up to Giggs to do something to end the madness.

    Squad named for the tour

Tour 2014 squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Johnstone, Rafael, Evans, Smalling, Jones, Shaw, Blackett, M Keane, James, Herrera, Cleverley, Fletcher, Young, Zaha, Kagawa, Mata, Valencia, Nani, Lingard, Welbeck, Rooney, W Keane.

    No Anderson or Hernandez.

Looking at that really brings home the need to sign some defenders and midfielders.

EDIT. Just saw it pointed out on twitter that there's no one whose team went past the group stages at the WC, so no Hernandez, Felliani, Janujaz or RVP. Bye Bye Anderson.

It's laughable how light we are in central midfield, it really is. Scandalous that it's been allowed to get so bad.

Only on MUTV, not sure about times but they will all be 10pm or later you'd think.

It's ok, Fellaini will be joining up with the squad after a while.

It'll be quite the disaster if Herrera picks up an injury.

Hes as good as gone if what were hearing is correct. He was originally on the squad to go over, but now he's apparently flying over for a medical with Benfica..wonder what sort of money he will go for

No Lawrence or Wilson is a surprise, thought it was a big year for them, perhaps have to be kept back for U21 pre season.

A sad way of looking at it is that Cleverly is one of the top midfielders at man utd, one of the biggest teams in the world.

Weird one actually, thought he would geta chance at least on tour, hope hes not being sold, he is extremely talented, has a drink drive charge hanging over him whether that would cause visa issues in the US im not sure.

Not that surprised. LVG mentioned yesterday it was the starting 11 he was most concerned with (I think) and will want to view the experienced heads consistently before:

    1) Deciding his first 11

    2) Deciding who gets the boot

    3) Where needs the most strengthening

Wilson and Lawrence will likely go on loan

Morata to Juventus is done. €18m fee, Real Madrid can buy him back for €30m after one year and €35m after two.

Juve spending Liverpool's Vidal and Pogba money?

I would be very surprised if he got into America with that drink driving charge that should explain it.

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal insists he will decide where his future lies when he returns to Italy for pre-season training.
The Chilean international, 27, has been linked with a move to either Manchester United and Real Madrid.
"It's difficult to speak of other teams when you are already at a top club," Vidal is quoted as saying to Chilean newspaper La Cuarta. "I have won the Serie A title three times and I respect my team-mates.
"I have heard about the interest shown by Real Madrid and Manchester United in me but it is my agent who deals with this."

"I've heard about Real and United interest. I can't say for sure if I'll stay in Juventus" - Vidal.

Real will probably sign him as Kroos's new midfield partner. Keep Modric and Alonso as back up.
