"It's not just the Theatre of Dreams but also the Dream of Louis Van Gaal." He's a charmer.

I'd defo enter a paid league. Just PayPal like we did with NeVeR's sweep, 1st/2nd/3rd winnings based on the amount of players paid up by 15/8. 10% to go to charity of our choosing. Sounds great.

    Thoughts?

Van Gaal not happy with how open the training pitches are, saying that it gets too windy...has asked that their be something done about it.

Lads, I think would be a great idea to do a paid FPL league. A bit of a laugh and we could donate to Santa Strike Force or a charity.

Very interesting that he said that. Is he alluding to the club wanting to make big name signings, rather than the right signings? Or is he giving out about the summer tour? Or something else?

LVG doesn't strike me as a man that alludes to anything. I think if he has something to say he'll say it.

    Great idea.
Not to hijack the idea, but can I suggest Pieta House - selfish reasons, but they are a brilliant organisation that provide a literal lifeline to many people.

sky talking now about Van Gaals hatred of the commercial side.

can just imagine Woodie asking him to hold up a Tyre or a bag of peanuts on tour and LVG telling him to get f*cked.

Or when 'Woodie' gives him that £750m adidas tracksuit to wear.....

Carrick being injured will more than likely force our hand in regards buying a central midfielder. Regardless of that, I'm excited to see what he can do with the rest of our squad.

For some on here, it seems like they'll completely lose their **** if we don't buy 2-3 players minimum before the season starts. Someone even questioned the fact of him knowing what his players would be like from a few weeks training and some pre-season games. Its as if they enjoy transfers more than the football itself - like going on holiday for the season on Football Manager until the summer begins.

If Van Gaal moves forward into the season with a squad with one more addition, then I'm ok with that. He'll know the squad better than any of us here will ever know after a week in charge. So, of course it would be fantastic if we pick up Vidal or another center mid but the most exciting part for me is seeing if he can turn around the paths likes of Nani, Cleverley and develop Wilson, Januzaj, Janko and others.

If Carrick is injured for a couple of months then we will have to bring in a midfielder. Fletcher is no longer a viable consistent player, Fellaini is coming off the back of some of the worst form of his professional career. Cleverley, like Fellaini had a nightmare season last year(and not much better the season before). That leaves Herrera who is only just in the door.

We desperately need an experienced high quality midfielder who can come in and hit the ground running. Vidal would be the ideal solution IMO and the club should be bursting their collective balls to land him now more than ever.

The legacy of United's shockingly weak midfield is once again coming back to haunt us. Let's just hope LVG is finally the man who can set it right.

sky talking now about Van Gaals hatred of the commercial side.

And they then just contradicted themselves, by bringing on a pundit (some Dutch reporter I think). Who then pointed out that Bayern had a huge commercial side and LVG had no issues with it.

LVG hopes fans back him and the club when they win or lose

‘I have heard that the season-tickets are already sold out and I am very proud. I hope you (United fans) support us when we are losing and not only winning, because we will win and lose together.’

What's the big deal with him saying he want's three to four weeks to look at the players before transfers.

Do people really think is going to stop him from wanting world class signings.

I would be surprised if De Vrij doesn't sign anyway, i also expect De Jong and Depay is also possible.

Was LVG the man who brought Shaqiri to Bayern. I read something the other day about him wanting to move he would be ideal.

We were awful last season and the support was unbelievable.

He won't have any worries on that front.

Moyes apparently struggled with this from day 1 also and was completely overwhelmed with the extra demands placed on him.

This to me is a perfect example of where a managers experience comes into play.

Having such a wealth of big club and international experience, it means LVG can assess these extra demands and make a decision based on his past experience and determine if it is important or excessive or whatever. Moyes didn't have this level of experience to call on and appeared to be overwhelmed by it all at times.

What's that got of do with the support of the team inside the stadium? A few idiots hardly overrule the other 70,000.

It won't take LVG more than a week to realise, with Carrick injured, Cleverley and Fellaini won't be good enough to start the season with

I feel he could bring De Jong in as a fix until January when we'll go after Strootman, it would be depressing going from talking about signing Vidal to signing De Jong. I'd rather Khedira

If you are one of the very young players at the club it has to be encouraging given what he said about a 16 year old Clarence Seedorf.

I agree, I think he'll quickly spot the driftwood and act decisively on it.

LVG also takes personalities into account.

Guess that is bye bye Zaha.
