It is foolish of Hamas to not accept a ceasefire, even if its one where Israel maintains the siege, and continues to expand outside her borders in the West Bank......... I am not entirely sure if it can be called a ceasefire, when one side gets to expand outside its borders the entire time..... Perhaps a real ceasefire, where both sides stop there violence would make more sense. Regardless I do think it foolish of Hamas to not accept, even if the ceasefire isn't really one, and is hopelessly in favor of Israel.

There is no excuse for what Israel is doing, none! The Palestinians are the people who have always lived in the region. They have been multiple religions over the millenia, jew, christian and muslim. The current Israeli population are largely not descended from the indigenous people from the region, they are European and Asian converts to Judaism. The only connection they have to the region is one through religion. there have been genetic studies done to prove this. Every Christian in the world has the same claim to the region that the Israelis have.

Hamas is an extremist group that has been born out of the extreme suffering of a displaced population. Think of the hate that the Irish have historically had for the English, think of the recent history of the IRA and the support they have had. Then multiply the oppression by about 100 and then see if you can empathize with why a group like Hamas exist. The locals have no hope, they cannot leave, they cannot make a life if they stay, their destiny is watch their families and friends murdered over and over again while the world watches and does nothing. Do you think you would be an extremist if your family and friends were murdered unjustly with no repercussion? I would say most of us would but amazingly the majority of people living in Gaza are not extremists who just desperately want a chance at a future. Have a look at some figures for the numbers of Palestinians killed vs Israeli's over the last couple of decades. You then might see that Israel is the genocidal aggressor even if they don't announce it publicly.
