Do you need a phone that supports their app or is there a way to get the mobile boarding pass on to a phone without the app? (e.g. on a Windows smartphone)

you could try saving the boarding pass as a pdf on your phone and it might be read by the scanner at the airport. safer to bring the paper one with you just in case on the first go though. from what i can see, it's iphone and android only at the moment

I'm already checked in for a flight tomorrow and have PDF boarding passes but can't seem to access my booking through the app. Seems to be for fairly recent bookings.

You don't seem to be able to add existing bookings to the app. You can only get a boarding pass etc for bookings made through the app. Not ideal for anyone who currently has a booking made.

    Maybe I'm doing something wrong!

I'm sure that probably is the case.

It's working OK for me, in that I can see a booking that's due to happen at the end of the month, but it went on to the system before the app was loaded on to my smartphone, and it was booked using a laptop,

You may need to go into amend my booking in order to make the smartphone aware of the booking, but that shouldn't be an issue as such.

I don't normally say nice things about Ryanair, but on this occasion, they seem to have got it right. Time will tell in terms of possible aggravations at security points, but in terms of making life easier, I'm all for it.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

What i dont like is that the registration page is not mobile friendly. Also I'd like to see the Deals section on the homescreen. Looks decent apart from that.

Just did that and it has shown my booking.

Hasn't shown mine but I assume that's because I've already done the outward leg.

    Hi all

I'm just wondering how the New Ryanair App handles multiple boarding passes. I have a booking for my wife and I. Will I have to carry both boarding passes on my phone or can my wife download a boarding pass using the same reservation number.

Absolutely nothing on the Ryanair FAQ's about this.

Can't see amend booking, but I logged in thru manage bookings on their full website on my iphone. Is that what you meant? Still not seeing any info.

Good question. I'd be interested to know. Would be great if I could have the whole families on the one phone. My toddler doesn't have a smartphone :)

A whole family can use one device for all boarding passes.

I booked a Ryanair flight in April for next week. On Monday, the Ryanair App automatically updated. Later that evening l heard via a Radio interview that one can board using the App.
So, I registered on MyRyanair and launched the App to have a look around. No Booking showed.
Since then, I have uninstalled the App and re-installed same. I have logged in on PC and viewed my Booking via Manage My Booking tab. I have also re-sent the Itenerary from the Ryanair Website. I have then logged into the App on my phone using the same E-mail address but my flight details STILL don't show.
Is there anything else I can try?
P.S. I tried E-mailing Customer Care and got back a mail with links to various Departments where I have to fill in an On-line Support Form.
P.P.S. I am using an Android phone..........

I went in to manage booking when it wouldn't show me a future flight. After a bit of messing about it brought the correct flight up. Have you tried checking in through the app?

    Hi,

I'm flying with Ryanair on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

I have the app on my android phone.

When I select check in I get the following message, YOU HAVE NO BOOKINGS TO CHECK IN. WHY NOT PLAN A TRIP?

Its exactly the same when I select MANAGE BOOKINGS.
And when i select Boarding Pass nothing at all happens

    Can anyone help me please?

This is great, sounds like they haven't quite worked out the kinks yet. But once they do, I'll be delighted that I can finally through out my printer.

Literally the only reason I have a printer is to print off Ryanair tickets.

BTW Do Aerlingus now support eTickets to all destinations? I remember when it originally launched it was only to select destinations.

    Ok so,

I used the app as a guest and I got my boarding passes up.

But I went the library and printed them off just in case hahaha

What would happen if the wifi went down at the airport?

I would hope that there is an option to download the relevant information on to the phone so that it is available even if there's no network or WiFi available, given the problems that can happen when buried deep in the bowels of a large building.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

What I always do when using the EI app is long press the qr code and save as a photo. That way you don't have to worry about an Internet connection or lack of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 jnay

Good thinkin. Lord Lucan, I'll do that . Thank you

Just remember, though, that say your flight is delayed for a long time and your phone battery is on its last few %. Everyone is reaching for their charger and trying to find that 1 socket at the boarding gate. That could be a problem.

Always have the paper boarding pass in the bag just in case...

I used the Easyjet one in March going to Madrid. You can download them to passbook on iPhone so you do't need to use up data. I was really good but at times it felt odd or pointless. For example, there wasn't much information about how to use it, and it was unnerving at Gatwick when I was the only one using it! Also at Madrid I used the app when dropping off my bad and they gave me a boarding pass anyway so I had a paper boarding pass pretty much all the time I was at the airport, rendering the app pointless.

    Is the Ryanair one similar?

Flew back from Bucharest yesterday with Ryanair. Anyone using the the mobile boarding passes were having paper boarding passes hand written for them at the boarding gate.

That's hilarious. A news article there for sure...

    I'm at Knock now.

I used the screen shot of my boarding pass and all is ok.

I'm really happy because when I phoned Ryanair they told me I wouldn't be able to use the app as I hadn't booked with the app. So that's not true.

I used the app over the weekend. Checked in using the app and had both of my boarding passes. All went well on the way over but when I went to look for my return boarding pass it had disappeared. Had to end up paying to re-print my boarding pass. Same happened to the guy at the other kiosk when I was printing it. Screenshot is definitely the way to go if you are intending on not printing anything.
