    Looking for some free advice

I train 4-5 times a week, my fitness isn't in question. I drink once a fortnight, diet is good, plenty of protein , minimal sugar, lots of fruit and veg close to zero procesed foods, no takeaways etc...

My body in General is good , legs , shoulders, arms , chest well toned. But just cannot tone my stomach. I feel I'm close to achieving it as my core is good, but can't just get over the final hurdle.

    Any ideas?

    Tks

You are eating too much. Simple as that. At a bit less, and you'll cut the last but if fat.

Plenty of protein, low sugar, lots of fruit n veg, no takeaways is all great. But eating too much of these foods will stop you shedding the last bit of fat.

You need to get yourself into a deficit. Your kcals at the moment are probably maintaining what you have but to get lean, you're gonna have to cut kcals to some extent. Something like 10% of your over all kcals to maintain your current body comp.

Thanks mellor, makes sense. I'll give that a go, although it's hard to surpress the hunger

why do you want toned abs?

    no its not.
a visible six pack means you're running a calorie deficit to reduce or keep bodyfat% low

It's a mental thing, been trying for long enough , getting old and just want to be able to prove it to myself. Then go back to being a flabby b*stard

Nothing to do with chicks, the wife couldn't care less!

To get abs to show you'll need to run a deficit. But once you have it, maintenance cals should keep it.

I've reduced my calorie intake , and tbh never paid much attention to it before, and this appears to be working after only a week , still a fair way to go but there has been a noticeable change. Dealing with the hunger can be tricky though

    Eating enough for what?

Do you think sprinters and professional soccer players aren't eating "enough?"
