So bonfires are being built around various areas of Northern Ireland, and are being prepared to be lit. However one has appeared with an effigy of what looks like Gerry Adams in Celtic Shirt, on a hangmans mast painted in the colours of the Irish Tricolor. Gerry Adams has been quoted as saying...
"deeply offensive and a clear hate crime by those responsible”.

Not sure of the significance of the Bonfires, but did do a little bit of reading in relation to July 12th prior to making this thread. Maybe some them building the bonfires and attending the 12th Celebrations don't know the significance either, and are just jumping on a bandwagon and using it as an excuse to display a political agenda or view that has nothing to do with the 11/12th origins.

I wouldn't worry, the people who build and light them haven't either.

Yes, yes it's just a welcoming celebration of culture where people of all ethnicities, religions, and races, come together to exchange pleasantries and sip on home made Elderflower Champagne while celebrating some battle that happened centuries ago.

How annoying must it be for them when they realize that we Mexicans, rather than take offence, find their 17th century shenanigans to be the stuff of lulz.

Why can't they just celebrate both Glasgow clubs winning their individual leagues?

Whilst I'm sure inhabiting a mindset of post-modern/post-religious views does have its advantages, for some (not all) disregarding the history of what has happen before one's existence and its continuous effect on the present does rather betoken an infantile like world view.

The word Hun is despised my 98% of Rangers fans as it is a derogatory term for Protestants and it in Scotland against the law

Oh And I am not Protestant either :p

The term 'Hun' is used to describe Rangers fans due to a newspaper article which described them as 'rampaging Huns' whilst they played abroad and caused chaos.

    Nothing to do with religion

Nonsense it was used long before that. Tell me then why in certain areas of NI KAH is sprayed on wall or how Motherwell and Hearts fans are also called it. To be honest I am not getting into a debate with you about it as it is pointless

I guess you missed Father Matt Wallaces effigy being burnt last year after he committed suicide ?
Or was that his fault too?

So this is his fault or what's your point exactly?

No idea most presume it has to with the German link to the royal family. But it really makes no difference. Celtic fans managed to get the word fenian made sectarian though it is not.

And no I don't use the term

It is part of their culture, playing with fire and walking down roads.

It represents how humans have power over fire and how we evolved to walk on two legs while carrying orange banners in support of the Dutch bid for third place in the world cup, given William of Orange was born in the Netherlands.

As British people, their culture goes back to the the Principality of Orange which is in modern day France, where I cannot confirm if oranges are grown there.

Fire can also be orange in colour, and used with petrol for a cocktail known as a Molotov, please drink sensibly if enjoying this cultural experience.
