So me Meeting my new neighbour didnt go too wel

I spotted a new neighbour moving in a few house down last week. A couple in their early 30's

This morning As I went out to work I was feeding the friendly neighbourhood black cat .As I was she came over to introduce herself and asked me the cats name. Cats only around a few days

She asked me his name

"Oj is what I call him"

Looks at me confused "OJ??"

Yes OJ I said as I saw him killing a few birds

Now as this stage I thought she would get my joke but alas she didn't get it so I explained it

"his a black cat and he kills birds and gets away with it"

It eventually clicked with her and she says to " That's an appaling name" and storms off in a huff

SO AH now what do I do to make the new neighbour realise i'm not a weirdo or should I just move on as she didn't get my humour

The person living "a few doors down" is not a neighbour. You had no need to engage them in conversation.

In fact I barely acknowledge the guy who lives next door, and he's been there twenty years.
