I thought getting a child picket line going was a brilliant idea.

Everyone under 5' in that line would rather see shaun the sheep than garth brooks.

Rather see the under 5's on picket lines by their parents pushing for the free doctor scheme

I heard that they all sat in the Dail today listening to Garth Brooks LPs and drinking beer from stetsons.

therefore implying that my post was some how suggestive of someone who was posting in a cult like fashion. You also implied that I believe everything the guy says

Have a read again of the post I quoted. Like only his fans know how what makes him tick.

I was on about his claim that he needs to play the 5 gigs to make the whole thing work as an event.

I can only replete what I posted earlier from yesterday's interview with Aiken.

Aiken's story was two concerts with a possibility of three, as the concerts finally sold out to five, Garth came over to Ireland and planned a whole NEW show, bringing an updated and never before seen show spectacle which he had planned for other venues in England and the Continent, he was excited to have to opportunity to do this in Croke Park and has since set his mind on it.

Because of the massive increase in lighting etc, the five in a row were the only viable option and he was [now] not prepared to redesign downwards again.

So he said five or nothing. We are now on hold until Thursday unless we get a few leaks.

So it is about the cost then? And the cost eating into his big pay day. So all that stuff about picking one child over the other was a red herring?

Its not picking one child over the other anyway, 2 of the kids have been taken off him. He should be happy with 3 and love them.

Then again Id fight for my 2 kids if the government took them off me....

    What was the question again?

No, the kids never existed so he threatened to kill the ones that did or something.

Not my interpretation. Artists are often essentric and do consider their audience to be personal friends rather than paying guests, Elton John had great praise for his audience of just 5 thousand at the Cork Marquee, it's not just about the money for artists.

Brooks was doing a show that cost a certain amount, then he has an opportunity to do a better show and he wants to, keep in mind he has not increased the ticket prices for the improved shows.

Anyone that suggests differently, just doesn't know what makes the guy tick.

I am very, very glad that I haven't a notion of what makes Garth Brooks tick.

Right, so he was only going to do a half arsed job because he was only playing 3 stadium gigs in a row. Only 240,000 people. It wasn't until the 5 shows were sold out that he decided to go the whole hog and give dublin what other venues are already getting.
But he loves his irish fans, they're special to him.

Thanks for the lame translation of what actually happened. More hatred towards Garth, but I guess that's all some of you have to keep yourselves happy.

Your IF will never happen, no matter how much you'd like it to.. so don't concern yourself with it.

Not that I believe for one second that you'd care a jot for the fans if that did occur mind.

Only seeing this now, You're aware i have tickets for the Friday and Sunday right?

Have a read again of the post I quoted. Like only his fans know how what makes him tick.

Quote where I said "only his fans" would anything..

Don't bother trying, as I never said it. Maybe learn to read..

A user suggested that Brooks only wants to play five gigs for financial reasons and I said anyone that would suggest that just doesn't understand what makes Brooks tick. I said nothing whatsoever about "only his fans" knowing jack shit about him. I am not even a fan of his even, but I am well aware of the business decisions that he has made down the years, that were made on points of principal and were he has lost untold millions because of his stubbornness.

You don't agree. Fine, but to then suggest that somehow my having that opinion, somehow means I am exhibiting sings of being a cult follower, is about as ludicrous as it gets, not too mention needless and snide. Seriously, if that's the level of argument you need to lower yourself to in order to express your opinions, maybe discussions forums aren't for you.

Ask the fans who have tickets for the 3 nights if they would prefer to see Garth on an acoustic guitar played through the Croke Park PA system or nothing at all.
From the fervor of the posts around here I think they would opt for the former. They paid for tickets long before any hyped-up stage-show was mentioned and I doubt anything has changed.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

I think the big question is why would you have tickets to 2 nights of Garth?

Is 1 night of cowboy crooning not enough to drive a man/woman insane?

So he wasn't even going to bring his 'A' game for the big comeback special was he? He was just going to fire out some standard crappy show and save the good stuff for the other countries?

    Thats very respectfull innit.

A bit of miscommunication between me and a mate when booking tickets, decided to make the most of it.

I do have a sunday ticket, I still feel like garths being a massive baby.

    A fair interpretation.

It depends on who you believe, whether they [either or both] Aiken & Brooks KNEW there could sell 5 concerts or their story that they thought they'd sell two and possibly three but five was awesome.

Selling concerts is not a refined science, we hear all the time of additional dates added, I'm pretty sure a promoter would be kicking himself if he announced three concerts and only sold one. Many a time we are told they could have filled the stadium many times over, the demand was so great, and we are talking about Garth Brooks, I for one was surprised he sold out one gig, TBH about it. But there ya go like.

Get those extra tickets auctioned, there are 160 000 potential customers,

Just think how much a tourist who already has flights / hotels willl pay,

You never know, the residents might even bid on them to stop one more animal pooing in their gardens
